Default New here!

Hi! I posted yesterday and neglected to introduce myself. I'm Sharmayla from NE Ohio. I suffer from extreme shyness and it's very difficult for me to hold down an outside job, so I would love to work from my home. I'm a 50yr old housewife and mom of 2 adult mentally-challenged sons who live with us. I know (and also agree), that you're supposed to go with your passion, but who's going to hire me to read? LOL! My passion is reading, ever since I discovered Nancy Drew as a little girl! My favorite Christmas presents were books! I would love to own a bookstore or work in a bookstore or be a famous author like my idol J.K. Rowling. I also love anything to do with the written word (spelling, grammar, etc), and I also love math, history, and cooking. I'm so glad I found this website!

Hi, Fendi & jbprice!
I would LOVE a proof-reading job, but have no idea how to go about getting one except to be hired at a newspaper or magazine and have to work outside the home. I worked at a newspaper (well, two newspapers) where there were proof-readers, but they had their own little office. How do I get a position I can do at home?

The only thing I've written so far, and I've been told I'm good at and is enjoyable for me, is writing letters, commentary, my opinion about something I feel strongly about, business letters. I know how to write a professional-sounding, formal letter to a business, such as a request or a complaint. When I mentioned I love spelling and grammar, that's due to the fact that it really bothers me when people have bad spelling and bad grammar. I had to cure myself from constantly correcting my husband. That was a very bad trait of mine! I had an idea yesterday. I would love to grade papers for teachers. I know grading papers takes up a lot of their time, but would they want someone else to do it, or do they actually prefer to do it themselves?

I also had another idea: I would love to be a wholesale(?) bookseller. I've heard of drop-shipping. Would that be a possibility? I would love to own a bookstore, but I have zero start-up money for a building or anything. I have absolutely zero money.

Hi Sharmayla,

Sorry for the late reply.

When you mention writing. What kind of topics do you write about?

To own an online bookstore, you definitely need an investment
so go out now to earn money for your 1st bookstore.

Hi, I'm new here too. I was reading your post and I wondered how you felt about ebooks and audio books. You can have a audio books website for very little investment and you can buy from yourself at a discount. Check out my website for more info. It might be something you're interested in. I love to read too, right now with both of my babies playing ball and spending four hours a night Monday thru Thursday at the ballpark doesn't leave a lot of free time so, I'm loving audio books right now. I just got As A Man Thinketh which is along the lines of that documentary The Secret which is based on the book The Master Key. Anyway, I just wanted to say hi.
