Re: New here!
Hi, Fendi & jbprice!
I would LOVE a proof-reading job, but have no idea how to go about getting one except to be hired at a newspaper or magazine and have to work outside the home. I worked at a newspaper (well, two newspapers) where there were proof-readers, but they had their own little office. How do I get a position I can do at home?
The only thing I've written so far, and I've been told I'm good at and is enjoyable for me, is writing letters, commentary, my opinion about something I feel strongly about, business letters. I know how to write a professional-sounding, formal letter to a business, such as a request or a complaint. When I mentioned I love spelling and grammar, that's due to the fact that it really bothers me when people have bad spelling and bad grammar. I had to cure myself from constantly correcting my husband. That was a very bad trait of mine! I had an idea yesterday. I would love to grade papers for teachers. I know grading papers takes up a lot of their time, but would they want someone else to do it, or do they actually prefer to do it themselves?
I also had another idea: I would love to be a wholesale(?) bookseller. I've heard of drop-shipping. Would that be a possibility? I would love to own a bookstore, but I have zero start-up money for a building or anything. I have absolutely zero money.
