[quote=amyd74;29175]Money is a beautiful thing. It is a metaphor for human achievement. No, money cannot buy you happiness. I am convinced only purpose can bring you that. However, money is still very important. Money is the root of all GOOD. There is no way I can agree that "Money is the root of all GOOD". There is plenty of good knocking about without any link to Money or gain - just good for good's sake our of human kindness. I agree with you on your purpose point. Is money a beautiful thing? Mmmm, it also without question has the ability to produce ugliness, surely? |

The way you think about money, either attracts it to you, or pushes it further away. When you think about money, are you thinking of debt, worry, trouble, lack of it...? If so, when you try to make money, you are doing it from a weak position; a position of desperation. To make money, you need to feel good about it or it'll never happen. Get excited about it - think of it as a game (or even a sport) if that helps - that's basically what it is. However, this must be a game where no-one loses...each side must get value. Like they say, 'guns don't kill people; people kill people', similar can be said for money, 'money's not bad, (some) people are bad'. Entrepreneurs make money - they create employment for others - they provide the basis for society. Entrepreneurs will be the force that gets the world economy moving again, not bail-outs. |

Well - I needed to completely reverse a mindset that "There's wasn't enough... " to "There's plenty - and I'm going to enjoy my share - to spend, to enjoy, to share, to invest"

To me, money will be the means with which I am able to live a comfortable life, but not a lavish one. The riches that I will find in life will be, and always have been, from my family and friends. Due to the way society has developed, everyone must have a trade to stay alive. So, I will strive to make enough money in my life to find riches elsewhere.

Be happy, be completely and passionately yourself. The highest paid "commodity" in the world is enthusiasm! Money follows naturally when you are contributing YOU to the world in all your uniqueness -whether you are an artist, a farmer, a writer, a doctor ... it doesn't matter - do it because you love it! You are a human being, not a human doing! Don't chase money because the bills need to be paid. Giving of yourself fully IS how you give value - there is only one YOU! From your resourcefulness, that is your re-SOURCE FULLNESS - give, and you will be rewarded with food, shelter, love and yes, your bills will get paid too. I live this more and more each day - and it totally works. Thanks for a good question. |

For me, money is only a tool.. nothing more, nothing less... A tool to achieve whatever you want in life.. Money has no value physically but it has the value to have anything you want.. Is money is important? Of course!!! But it not everything that you need in life, especially happiness... |

Money, like power, is neither good nor bad, it's what you do with it that matters! You can use it to help others, or to enslave them. |

Nature's first imperative is survival and without money survival is almost impossible yet so many grow up with the idea that there is something inherently evil about money. You know it's the 'the love of money is the root of all evil' thing. Therefore, without even being conscious of it these two confliction ideas can keep slamming into each other and causing all kinds of mischief in one's life.

My happiest days were in my childhood, when we didn't have much, but I still remember being happy. And when I lived with my last fiance, we had cardboard boxes for end tables, and I couldn't have been happier. Money makes people do strange things sometimes, and many people are too obsessed with money. I work at home to provide for my family, and I enjoy spending time at home with them. I work to pay the bills, and if I hit the lottery, I'll quit. :-) I would love to be rich, but I'm not in love with money as much as what could be done with it.
