I find when i take on a new opportunity or fire up a new bizz or something the one thing that keeps on on track is to have a daily action plan. A solid list of tasks to perform each day for each opportunity. I was the worst person for getting side tracked on something else and before i knew it a day would go by and nothing done..lol Then i put together daily action plans for everything i was doing or promoting or whatever and now i find myself getting ahead and accomplishing goals faster than ever! Great advice. I find that if I make a list before I go to bed of all the things I need to do the next day and then put them in order of what needs to be done first, second, etc., it really helps. I work my business with my sister who is all over the place and thinks she is working hard, but hardly accomplishes anything. I found that if I make her a To Do List and email it to her, she accomplishes a lot more - and appreciates it. I guess some people wouldn't like that. If you could be a part and profit from the next big change on the internet - would you? |

The main thing is not to spend too much time reading emails. This is one of the biggest time wasters. See that you keep this past time to a minimum and really just spend time on the ones you can benefit from. Michelle Jayes |

This is my biggest weakness...failure to plan! I would like to accomplish many things, but in the end I haven't accomplish anything. I really need to train myself into making a daily action plan, and follow it through. So starting now, first on my to-do list is...make a to-do list ![]() I'll follow sam305's advice of making a to-do list in order of priority before going to bed. Thanks to the other advices as well! A good system to use, is to write a list of tasks and allocate a time for each. Put them in order of priority and starting with the main one, work on it and don't stop until you have completed it. Then take a ten minute break and begin the next one. Anything not completed that day, carry over to the next. Before wasting time on something, consider whether it will benefit your business or not. Hope this helps : ) michellejayes |

The 4-Hour Work Week by Timothy Ferris is a good read on time management and planning. Dan Kennedy has some great material on this topic as well. |

Although, you'd think a To Do file would be effective, I actually find a small notepad and pen on my desk right in front of the monitor gets more use. As I go through today, I have a page open with tomorrow's date on it. Every time something comes up that I can't do now for whatever reason, I make a note of it on the pad... include a detail or two so that you can remember why you need to do this. First thing tomorrow morning while the PC cranks up, I review the list and get started. That usually generates a list for the following day. This adds what can't be more than seconds to the day, but saves hours of wasted time wondering what it is I should do next. As a further tip - leave a line or two between items so that when you're actually performing them, you can add the name of the person you spoke to or the result you got etc. Now you've even turned a simple to do list into a journal. ![]() Works for me!
