Default Network Marketing is NOT about selling.

If you are involved in a network marketing business the faster you realize that you are not selling the more successful you will become.

What do I mean by this?

One the product / service side of your business you do not want to take the approach of trying to sell something to people. You are offering information about something that will have a positive impact on their life.

Too many times people get so frustrated because they just "have to sell something" once you fall into this mode you are headed to failure.

Trying to convince someone they need what you are offering comes across as a sales pitch.

Try taking the time to ask questions and find out what interests this person about your product or service as well as what they expect it will do for them.

Once you know what this person is hoping to get from your product / service it is much easier to reinforce those things. They want to know that they are going to get out of it what they had hoped to get.

It is no different on the team development side.

People have many different reasons why they want to join a network marketing business. Spend the time to get to know this person, what they want out of life and what they are hoping for in a home business.

This will help you highlight things about the business that relate to what they are looking for.

You do not have to sell and as a matter of fact you SHOULD NOT be selling at all.

Try it, I guarantee it works, I burn it into my team every day.

Jonoki is on a roll!

Once again, you have said it well. You should be of service to others and offer your help in fuffilling others needs. Personally, I make every attempt to "be available" to my team members as well as anyone who is interested in our opportuinty.

I did a training call just this past week for our team members. The emphasis was on exactly this issue- I told them I do not "sell" the opportunity. Instead, I have a deep discussion with the person evaluating our opportunity to see if we have a good value fit, if I think they have a great chance to succeed- and if they are willing to put the effort into their own business- following our extensive collective team mentoring program. It is apparent after this kind of discussion if you truly have a good "fit" or if it is better for you both to spend your time and efforts elsewhere.

Don't sell.... instead- look to fill people's needs! The last thing you want is to fill your team with people who are not empowered to learn themselves and help build their own business- they may need guidance- and that is absolutely part of my job to help point them in the right direction- even to give them a head start by helping them with initial expansion of their own team (notice I did not say help them with "sales"!). We do three way calls and have an initial 30 day plan to help steer their efforts while they get started. We also invest ourselves in their success by including them in a Rotator program of leads and sales without their financial involvement until they get started and are profitable. There is nothing that builds a relationship faster than paying it forward!

I agree Joniki, excellent & powerful points.

Selling is not needed, it is a natural process & flow. When your eyes are focusing on assisting others and solving problems and offering solutions then i becomes absolutely effortless.

People can sense your true intentions and they will be magnetically be attracted to a servant leader.

thanks for sharing.

Network Marketing is about selling opportunities...not products

Well at least that's my opinion. (c;
