It's just a matter of how you look at it. For most, planning time for work/business and sticking to it is about making a habit. Before you set this up most are likely in a habit of not sticking to schedules, so it's easy to be disorganized, etc. Once you put yourself into the habit of working hard and sticking to a work schedule, you'll likely find it easy to stick to... which is a positive habit.

I completely agree with you. I just did a series of articles for a client on building lifelong healthy habits. Repeated actions lead to habits. Just like the smoking habit is built by smoking repeatedly, good habits are also built. I'm trying to get in the habit of keeping my desk clean and organized

I understand your predicament. Planning your time - or anything for that matter has never been easy. Yet planning is the foundation for success. If you find your planning problems being too big, then you might need to do some serious soul searching to find exactly what the issue is? Is the problem the planning process itself i.e. commiting yourself to the planning process or is it keeping to the plan once you have developed it. What areas of your life are neglecting or at least failing in due to time planning issues? Is there something you are avoiding doing - and if yes - why?
You can have a meditation on time - and what it means to you.
Remember, someone has said that we cannot really manage time, we can only manage our activity during the time.
Whatever you do, however, at least ensure you enjoy your time.

Ani the tips are great. I find for myself lists are great. It helps me see what I have done and what I need to do and then I can schedule my time appropriately.
