I just joined this NEW Social Network that launches in just 4 days, I joined 5 days ago and have already made over $150 just by telling others about it! It is based around businesses, you can advertise your link PLUS get $15 per referral, I'm sure they will have much more advertising options once we launch in just a few days, for one, I'm sure you will be able to place banners, ect. on your profile as well and I also hope we will have the classifieds. I've already posted my link when I joined, so it will already be there when the doors open plus I've earned money for more advertising

BackPage.com (but they are getting pretty prohibitive about posting ads)

yes, Free Classifieds, Free Ads, Free advertisement, Business Opportunity is a good one. Thats where I post my ads and get excellent results. If you wanted to, I am able to post to every state/city and a few countries as well on that site, i could do this for you. just take a look at my signature

Craigslist is a good one, but it's tougher and tougher to post there due to spamming going on. Plus you have people on there that get upset about you being on their "turf" that flag your post for no good reason. Get flagged a couple of times and good luck seeing your ads live. They will make it appear as though your ad is live but it' really not. they call it ghosting.
But if you're able to post successfully then it can generate good leads. Too much of a hassle for me, some sections even require phone verification now to post there. and you can expect more sections on craigslist to have phone verification in the future.

You should still consider traditional advertising to promote your business. The problem with FREE ad boards, etc is that by posting your business on them you will make your business seem cheap and "shady". Legitimate businesses advertising in the local paper, on radio and on tv. If your interested in gaining some real advertising and getting more hits on your site you should join some social networking sites.,
