The great thing about the internet is that it has opened a whoe host of business opportunities that are much less to start than pre-internet days (is my age showing? lol)

This is mainly because with service related business you can reach out and touch a larger customer base than our grand parents could have even imagined and in some cases within a couple hours. It' really is powerful stuff.

You will have to invest something but you can really startpart time on a shoe string budget.

Cool Re: I'm Lost...

I would just like to explain one of the reasons most people fail online. But first I’m not trying to say anybody is wrong on this forum. But one of the biggest reasons people fail online is they fall for the saying “find something you like and enjoy”. Well this can be true but it’s not how the big guns do it. The big secret is research!! Find areas to enter. So when you are looking to start your home biz find some one that is willing to teach you the whole process.
Try this to get a better idea. Go to your favourite search engine and type in “How to find hot markets” or “How to find hot niches” to get a bit more info.Unless you are a master of traffic generation you need to at least get an idea of how it’s done. Good luck!!

There are many many ways to really make money online from home.

Let me give some ideas. I repeat this all the time.

Sell on ebay! What to sell? Your unwanted items at home for starters. How to start? Ebay has an excellent tutorial you can learn from itself.

Sell your services. Can you write? Design? Many people online need these services. So sell your services to them for a fee.

Be an affiliate. There are many companies who are willing to pay you a commission for referring people to purchase their stuff. Read up on who to be an affiliate and join their affiliate program.

Create your own product. So you have something that the world don't. Create an ebook, real products and set up a payment portal on a website to sell.

Well, these are the base ideas.

If you follow through any of these ideas, there are more steps to take.

Just choose one and learn them step by step...

It seems to me you know the basics. Find something you enjoy doing see if there is something legit in that field or close to it. Ask around about the business or job chances are there is someone doing it or they have tried it. If you are not a people person then some companys have call centers to help you. Shop around and see what opptions are out there you will be amazed at what you find. What i like about my business is that it sells it self because everybody travels so i just share with people that i am a Travel Agent and they say i know who to go next time i am taking a trip. That is just with family and friends. So find what works for you and go for it.

A very important thing to remember is to try and find a product or service you really believe in. You don't need to be a sales person to sell a product or service you truly believe in. Prospects can sense whether or not you're trying to "sell" them something. When you truly believe in what you're marketing, you simply present it to interested parties and allow them to see the same value you saw when you got started. Much of the time they will close themselves.

Also, remember that the less it costs you to get started in a particular business, the more work it usually takes to generate a substantial income. Secondly, the reason franchises are so successful is because they have a built in business model and great corporate support. The upfront fees that most franchises charge are well worth the investment. You are essentially paying for their proven system and business tools.

To better leverage your capital, it may be best to finance your start up costs and use your on hand capital to use for marketing expenses.

After all, no business is successful without proper marketing.

Consider investing in yourself and don't settle for the old "something for nothing" scheme. Generating a substantial income from home definitely takes plenty of work, but the rewards are countless and satisfying.

Good luck with your search,

Mike

I started out (and still do) affiliate marketing. Many online merchants will allow you to market their products via email since you enjoy speaking through email better than in person.

The merchant gives you a link to place in your email and a 3rd party tracking company will track the commission sale.

You then could progress by signing up for an auto-responder that can create newsletters and send them out automatically at intervals you set. You can send me a private message for a link to the best auto-responder service online.

Basically - I started out marketing products that are currently on ebay by signing up at the affiliate network CJ.com - which is the 3rd party tracking company that also pays you your commissions for products you promote already listed on ebay by other sellers. It's a huge marketplace with really good deals so you can find a niche in just about anything.

Just browse around CJ.com for starters there are litterally hundreds of companies that will pay you a commission percentage to market there products.

I am new with this stance, although I've been allover the net for a decade already but this is the first time I decided to try and look for something that can help me earn that extra cash and improve myself as well.

I am a talker via mails but never in person. Quite a downer, yes, but that also meant I'm no born seller. It must be fun to really be into something you enjoy doing!

I know exactly what your talking about. I searched and searched and could never find a real stream of income. But one day I just happened to come across this site, and I have been working at home ever since. The secret is, you have to contract yourself out to several different companies most of the time, unless you find one company that needs a full time telecommuter. There are real jobs out there. I found thousands and thousands on
onlinejobstoday.org. They are a non-profit organization and only request a small donation to get access to their database. It is legitimate, real jobs, and you will stay busy as long as you want to, because the database is updated daily. Good luck!

Good luck and be patient ... you'll come across something when you least expect it. Mine happened to be late in life ... a year after retiring !
