We could actually do this with really any type of business. If you have a product site, we could look at the various forms of proof such as video testimonials.

I guess this depends on what you're selling. In Jamison's case, it looks like he's selling himself... his ability to get a site top ranking, for example. Are you for hire, Jamison? Is that what this is about?

On another note, if you're selling physical products, proof that the product works would carry more weight than info on the seller.

As mentioned, it could be bit difficult to get customers, no matter how satisfied with the results, to give up their contact info... but in the particular company that I'm involved with they provide a lot of testimonials that include full names and a pictures of the person. This tends to carry more weight and might be worth a try.

Because the company has developed such loyalty among its customers and its affiliates they have no trouble getting these testimonials. I've had one of my own published in their monthly catalog. We believe in the value of these products. We've seen the results. Therefore, we're happy to see people using them... it's not JUST about the money. Although that's very nice, too.

Good post Tula. Actually no. I am not for hire. I rarely take on clients any more. Actually, I never finished this thread. I have more effective "proof" than what I have posted.

The goal here is to give feedback to each other on what we are presenting to gain credibility. If people were to take advantage of this, we could help one another to increase the effectiveness of our sales letters and such.

The problem is that I am the only one that has posted anything. Maybe the purpose of this section is not clear enough.

You've made yourself very clear Jamison. I think the problem is that people are afraid to step out of the box and express themselves to others. They don't want to take a risk...myself included.

I am new to some of this marketing stuff and I have never heard of "tell your story" and proof page, but I think it's an amazing concept.

It hasn't really come together. I had actually planned on uploading a lot more. I may end up deleting this section. I would be great if more people were to participate.
