Process at Home (processathome.com) by Angel Stevens (aka. Angela Penbrook and who knows how many other names) is a relatively new work from home solicitation. She claims that her company can set you up with a job getting paid top dollar to simply process rebates at home. This program sounds like a real job but unfortunately just like with the majority of data entry programs this one's all smoke and mirrors. After you sign up for $197 you won't get access to a list of companies in need of home workers. Process at Home is nothing more than a clever twist on what the data entry programs have been doing for years. Processathome.com simply tells you to start marketing digital products online and offer a rebate on them.
So for instance, if an eBook is selling for $50 with an affiliate program that pays 50% commission they advise you to offer a rebate in the neighborhood of ten bucks. So, if you get a sale you make ($25 - $10) with a profit of $15. However, to attract customers to your rebate proposal you will have to advertise on the major search engines like Google, Yahoo, and MSN. This advertising is done on a cost per click basis and if you follow the system you should be prepared to invest several hundred dollars into this.
So basically, you're not paying for a job but for a sales strategy that can be applied to affiliate marketing. It is possible to make money with this method but it requires money to invest as you will be paying close to one dollar every time somebody clicks on your advertisement. Within one day this can quickly add up to you spending $40 - $60 if you don't know what you're doing.
I wouldn't call Process at Home a total scam but their advertising is GROSSLY misleading. Yes it's true that you'll be "Processing Rebates" but not in the way advertised. It would be only after you had spent money, referred a sale, and avoided a refund.

I'm glad I never wasted any money on those rebate programs. Even if it isn't a complete scam it just isn't worth it.

I'd stay away from those as well...

I have learned to stay away from any company that says you can process anything at home. Large companies have entire departments dedicated to processing things like rebate, checks, money orders, blah blah blah.

Any company out there that tells you a company has people doing this from home is full of crap, and wants your money and nothing more.

These companies are not new, nor will we see the last of them as long as people are willing to spend $200+ for free information you can find over the net in minutes.

These aren't jobs at all from what I hear. They try to get you to spend your own money on advertising and supposedly you get a "commission" from sales which is not much at all. I'd stay away.

I just wanted to mention that i actually did come across the very same article from the original post and I'm glad i did because I almost bought into this scam. I am glad that I have never signed up for this. I have gotten many SPAM emails about this opportunity. I never did research it, but something didn't sit right with me about the whole business. Plus they were asking for way too much up front. I guess my guardian angel was guiding me, because now I see this post that confirms my suspicions.
