The best way is not starting from zero. Start with the best opensource code out there. There are lots of thing that are not written in the book. Just best practice. Start with framework. Learn PHP? start with KohanaPHP or code Igniter. You want content site. Learn Wordpress. Just don't start from basic. That's my method. Hope it works for you. |

I have found that the best way to learn code for me is to learn as you go along. I would not sit down and try to learn PHP inside out. Learn what you need to know in order to accomplish whatever you need to get done. Otherwise, you may waste a lot of time learning things you will never use.

The best way for me is to actually do the coding while reading my references, like doing a hands-on programming. That way, I can actually see the results of the codes I am reading. It's always easy even if I start from scratch.

Here's my technique... I'll take the basics, so from the basics I just learn as I go along... I make sure that I had my references to guide me... i try to discover codes on my own and really learned from it... |

Set yourself small projects and build them, don't learn PHP from a book cover to cover. Start with some simple sites, grab bits of code from online tutorials, there are numerous resources on opensource code, download them, change them, edit them, dive in!!! I started learning html over 11 years ago and the best way was to just get stuck in, build sites/pages/small projects. You will find in time that there will be a handful of sites that you use for reference time and time again but its worth putting in the effort to see what suits you. Many of them rank small projects by difficulty so you can just pick and choose. |

Learn from tutorial sites such as w3school. Get some ideas and apply it in your project. Learn as you go.

The best way to learn any code is to fist know the syntax. Then we can write small programs using those syntax. Then we can try to write coding using more syntaxes.Slowly we can learn to write the programs.
