Hi Guys

Which programming language is the easiest to learn and use?

(we're dealing with web apps here)

If you want to write webapps - PHP for backend. Google will try to convince you it's Python. Don't listen.
Javascript for front end (browser side).

Forget "easiest" or "quickest" words though.

I'd have to say PHP is the tool of choice for the majority of dynamic, content driven websites. It's free to use, where as some other programming languages will cost you $$ to set up. There are a lot of other free ones out there though. There is also a plethora of resources on PHP, so you'll definitely find plenty of examples and tutorials. So, it's easy to learn as far as access to subject material.

PHP definately - although agree with blacknight about forgetting "easiest"!!!

With many development languages there is a wealth of info online, tutorials etc, but I've been using PHP for over 8 years, I used to dabble with Cold Fusion (when it was with Allaire!!) but just find PHP a more platable solution.

Plus there are a lot of great open source PHP resources especially with CMS so if your building web apps this is the way to go

For what purpose you want to learn.If you are looking for Web designing, HTML will be a good choice for you.Its the starting.After knowing this, you can easily go for other languages.Then you can learn the other languages like CSS and PHP.
