Cool Re: Free Leads

Free leads are worthless...

If you want to email market the best way to go about it is build your own list. If your free leads list has know idea who you are, Do you think they will trust your advice/recommendation? You need to build your own list and give them something of value that will help them with there problem. This way they know who you are and more importantly they trust you.

For example; Lets say you have a dog training site and your visitor want's to know how to stop there dog from barking?

You have an auto responder on your website and you give away a free training guide on how to stop there dog from barking.

It works and there dog has stopped barking. Hey guess what?

You now have a customer who trust you, knows who you are and is willing to buy a product that you recommend!!! The best part is you have a very targeted customer, you have there email address and you can sell them again and again. Now imagine you have over 5000 trusting customers $$$$$$$

You could sell them anything from good dog diets, flee powder, grooming tips, guides on how to stop them from jumping on people, biting, digging holes the list goes on.If you got the lead for free and they have know idea who you are and how you got there email address. They may have a look at what your selling but they don't trust you because:

1. You have not helped them in anyway
2. They have no idea who you are
3. They are wondering how you got there email address

My advice is to get your own list.

Trust me I have been there with the whole free leads thing and it's not worth the time. Concentrate on getting your own trusting, loyal subscribers as they say "The Money's In The List"

I think it's important to try and create your own list from scratch. Maybe from your networking contacts and other business relations. It will pay off to do it that way.

It is definitely a good idea to develop your own list. Just remember that the money is in your RELATIONSHIP with your list. You do not just want to bombard your list with email trying to sell something. That is a good way to have people stop opening your email.

The key is to keep your list opening your email. How do you do that? By adding VALUE. In other words, try and send valuable information to your list that will help them. This will help to keep them opening your email, as well as, build credibility and trust. Then... when you have an attractive offer, they will be more willing to buy from you.

So in other words offer them something for nothing that they need or want? Keep them interested? What if you don't have products as such to offer? What other things could you offer? Advise? what else?

You can offer help or give them information that can benefit them in some way. There are always PLR reports or ebooks that you will be allowed to give away and these make useful gifts also.

It all depends on your niche. Like I said in my post, you want to provide them with value. Than can just be valuable information such as tips and advice related to your niche.

Like michellejayes has mentioned, you may want to track down some PLR (Private Label Rights) information products to give away. PLR has been very popular and you can likely find some PLR material that is related to your niche.

If you tell us what niche you are in, maybe we can give you more suggestions. Feel free to pm me your niche if you want to keep it private.
