Blogging and newsletters are time consuming but can be very effective.

I love Blogging I didn't mind the newsletters so much, but blogging is just like writing in a diary, you can say exactly what's on your mind...and every once in a while, I have alot on my mind |

Hi Steve, You have raised a very important point about affliate marketing. I personally don't know half the products I am promoting...but I do try to do some homework. so many affliates are just promoting products they really don't know anything about. I have not made any money from this marketing maybe it's because I really don't know the area of business very well and only use content that i read about. What do you think I should do Steve? |

I left you a message in another thread about checking out cafepress.com. You could sell t-shirts and other articles, with your own designs on them. Best Regards, Steve MacLellan |

Pepejam, if your blog is solely promoting products as an affiliate, i suggest you at least go through the trial period of the service of product or buy them and then do an honest review of each and then tell them how it's helped you. Don't keep selling. Pre-sell...

Articles and reviews that are written by you and submitted to article directories with links in them can also do awesome jobs.

If your site is a profitable one then you could use PPC. But make sure that you know what you are doing, or you could lose money. I found it to be the quickest way to get targeted traffic.

Here's a couple tidbits of info: Think of yourself as a "helper" versus a "marketer". A newsletter that provides useful content its readers are looking for will be appreciated. Great content given in several doses versus all at once will help build trust in you and keep them reading. Perhaps others can share what programs work for them that could also be of benefit to you and the rest of us. Joanne B. |

Excellent point Joanne! Be a resource for people, not a salesperson. I have found that there are many effective free ways to promote on the internet. iContact is a very effective resource as Joanne noted earlier, my whole team uses the site as well. I have also found that free online ad placement, if consistent can produce excellent results for you. Places like Craigslist and Kijiji, if not abused, are great places to get exposure. Note: Consistency is key with this. Just like people need to trust you before they decide to join you in business, I believe the same psychology applies to ads. People need to see them a few times before they open them... not all people, but it seems to be what I have found. I hope this helps! |
