Default Attraction Marketing

Has anyone ever heard about the concept of attraction marketing?

It goes along the line of people join people. When you are selling something to someone and they like the product, they are joining because of you and not the item you are selling. It's the concept on how to make ourselves attractive to others so they will buy or join whatever it is you have to offer.

What do you think?

Absolutely! It's a new name for an old concept. As an example from old school... people will go out of there way to go to a corner store that gives them good service over one who is closer to home, but has a grumpy proprietor.
They are 'attracted' to the friendly corner store.

I speak from personal experience.

So, I would say, yes, attraction marketing has good value. Having said that, one has to be careful because unscrupulous people know that, too, and will be 'Mr. Niceguy' just to get you to purchase a shoddy product.

Good post Tula. Everyone is talking about "attraction marketing" nowadays. I agree. It is a new name on something that has been around for a long time. Being a person that offers value to the lives of others is quite attractive.

Do unto others as you'd have them do unto you??

Just kidding, Jillian, I don't know if it had a name other than 'good public relations' back then. Sometimes giving something a 'cool' name, creates a buzz that in itself is a useful marketing tool.

Dale Carnagie referred to it also in his book, "How to Win Friends and Influence People", but I don't recall if he actually gave it a label.

Same with Napolean Hill's, "Think and Grow Rich."

The truth is, these books are old. Really old. In a psychology sense, there's nothing totally new that has come out since then in marketing. Marketing is based on the psychology of people and no matter where you go and no matter in what time frame. People are people.

What is new are the techniques used to market... those are an ongoing learning curve that never seems to stop.

Good explanation Tula. Think about how many times someone has tried selling you a product or membership and you only bought because maybe it was a friend of yours or it could've been a complete stranger an you just really liked them, but could care less about your purchase. I know I've done that before.

Is the concept of Attraction Marketing also linking to The Law Of Attraction as discussed in the book The Secret.

In effect you get what you focus on. The universe promotes and attracts both positive and negative depending on the focus. Would be better explained by a link, but I cant do links yet.

I also believe 'attraction marketing' has become very popular as a marketing tool or concept is because poeple have been taught for so long in this industry to tell all you friends and family about your opportunity and many people feel like are pushing their products or services on to people, which brings up the old saying no one likes to be sold anything. But to finish people love to buy things all day long and that is the key to attraction marketing, if you are attractive to the point people want what you are selling because you have solve their problems not just pushed them a product then selling becomes easy, in fact it is no longer selling, it more becomes order taking.
