attraction marketing is the only way to go. However, you have to do it the right way but being absolutely clear about who you are targeting and then offering insane value and avoiding spam like the plaque.

It used to be known as The Law of the Harvest: you reap what you sow! It was also known as "what goes around comes around", "give first, then receive" and a whole bunch of expressions that all describe the same intelligent behaviour. In marketing and advertising, it's always been known as "pull versus push". Most mainstream media is decidedly "push", using the "interruption" model. Direct response marketing and advertising have long combined the two, using the origins of "permission" marketing to get past gatekeepers and barriers, then to offer inducements of value to the prospects to get them to move to the next stage of the sales process. As always, smart promoters seek to brand these concepts with something they can identify with themselves — be it "The Secret", "Attraction Marketing", "Magnetic Sponsoring" or anything else currently "flavor of the month". The Internet has put consumers more firmly in control of the process, so that "pull" now rules. You can push your message or offer as much as you like; until the consumer chooses to lower the drawbridge of their digital "keep", you are NOT getting inside! You know raising kids reminds me that attraction marketing is a very basic concept. Just look in the school yard and see that the attractive, happy and helpful kids have lots of friends. Guess they have something to offer and so they are liked and seen to be cool. In its oldest form, I reckon Attraction Marketing was once known as a simple ad. The principle is simple - put yourself out there and those who are interested in what you have, do, are or "sell" will come looking. If you, the seller, offer good service, guess what, your lookers become buyers because they now like you. So, how do we adapt this to online marketing? Here's an excellent explanation:
Sure you can put out ads for whatever you want to promote - this is still attracting prospects - or you can specialize in good free, helpful content... much like this forum really. I have been a student of Attraction Marketing for some time now and have found some great teachers (Ann Seig, Mike Dillard, Daegan Smith, Mike Klingler) of the principals. They all offer paid and free stuff. But to use the principals of Attraction marketing online, you still need to do that Marketing 101 degree. I have found these free videos to explain the whole internet marketing sequence the best of all... but you still need to understand the basics of AM. |

Attraction Marketing is the ability of a business owner to attract leads and prospects, whether he or she is in multi-level marketing or affiliate marketing.

This is a great point, "attraction marketing." You do need a solid product but people still buy YOU. I spent 10 years as a licensed, registered, financial advisor. For the most part, we all have access to the same or very similar product lines. I did change companies a few times through the years and every time, my current clients/book of business followed me. That's because they bought me and the products were secondary. They have to like and trust you. As I have moved into Internet Marketing, they sill are my clients since I have maintained my licenses and registrations. Have solid products and be a good person. This would apply in any business. Just like The Laws of Attraction in "The Secret." Best, Joe M. |

There is a lot of truth in what you say, Joe. And sometimes that can even be the downfall of newbies. They follow someone they like... but that someone may be a dismal failure at marketing. Or have no real concept of what is a great choice in products or services to work with. For long term success, you need both. You need to attract people to you as a source of knowledge and inspiration... but you will also need a solid product and company behind you. If you don't, then you're doomed to having to start one business after another. How much better to provide consumable products to an ever growing client base instead of having to continually convince your followers to follow you into another scheme! |
