Outsourcing is in my opinion one of the best things you can do for your business. So should know what you do best, so let other take care of what you can't. For example, I *CAN* do graphic design. I've even been employed as it for several years. However, my stuff isn't that amazing. Becuase of this, I usually use a site like rentacoder.com to get work done for me. I save LOTS of time and end up with a great product. This way I can concentrate on core development of my business intead. |

I dont have anything against outsourcing, I've outsourced some work from rentacoder a couple of times, usually things I cant do or dont have the time to do it, however its important to make sure that who your outsourcing is reliable, its your word out there, not his.

Outsourcing surely is very good for business, it is a good idea to get your grunt work done by free lancers and you spend your time more on developing your business further. Before giving someone a job, always ask for samples of their previous work so that you know they do quality work.

I outsource just a few things. I outsource the development (getafreelancer) and design (sitepoint.com's contest forum). However, I always handle billing, support, and moderation.

I don't have my own business yet, but I have entered contests for outsourced materials. My biggest problem with outsourcing is that there is always a time issue. It takes time to communicate between your source and your client, which can be valuable time wasted when dealing with thigh deadlines. I just think a business should never rely on outsourcing, and I don't like the idea of using my name for somebody else’s work, especially if I know I can't produce quality or products that they can. I do like the idea of referring potential clients to businesses that I have gotten along with; especially if I know they can produce quality and will satisfy their customers. |

I think outsourcing definitely has its place. If you think you can better take advantage of your time doing something more profitable, then why waste time with some mundane tasks that can be cheaply hired out? That being said, I resist outsourcing myself as I happen to have more time than money. |

Outsourcing can have its benefits and disadvantages. The advantages are if you have the cash, and dont have the general knowledge to code, graphics design than that is a benefit. The disadvantages are finding the right outsourcing contacts, someone who can do the job for a decent price. Just remember you get what you pay for, and always remember to sign a non-disclosure agreement. |

Outsourcing is a good idea because you would end up with a good result and paying less than you normally would if you hire somebody here. Countries like India charge like less than three dollars for a day's work so that is just a fraction of the cost of labor here.
