Default Article copy right

Do you guys worry about your article being ripped off your site and copied to another site, even worse taking all the credit for the article fir his/her self
Well i found this site that can help you catch anyone that takes off content from your site and putting on another webpage
http://www.copyscape.com
The site tries to find any similar content on the internet which is similar to the content of the page you enter, nice tool i would say

Thats great find dactyl, Thanks for sharing. Didn't know about this.

I saw some warez sites check the refferer links to find out who are leeching their contents. Then they use antileechers to protect their links.

And its great that you also can search with one page article with copyscape. Its also a great feature.

One hint with this whole business....First, once your original article is written by you...the first place you should put it is Google Base. Add it as content and put a disclaimer at the bottom that states it's your original work...all rights reserved...and list your website where it's authorized to be. then put it on that website...with a link back to the google base article...then copyscape it.

This way...the first trace of the article is on google base with a link to your site. Keep a record of the date, time and url you copyscaped and if you ever find someone else using it without your backlink...or just plain stealing it...there's a paper trail with you being the originator and everything date stamped.

At this point...it's safe to have google crawl your site and submit it to article directories.

The word that comes to my mind when I hear about this subject is "support". There are a lot of people out there that are willing to support you, and help prevent copyrighting from occurring and remaining. Some hosting companies will threaten suspension of accounts if the content can be proven that it was copied.

One of my biggest pet peeves is how some people pay others to paraphrase works and those that actually take up the job. It is one thing to use a couple of documents as resources, but it is totally different to go ahead and just change what they said. If you don't have any background knowledge on a subject, and are only given one resource, the only thing you can do is copy the main ideas, and basically steal somebody else’s work. O, wait though...you changed a few adjectives and verbs using a thesaurus, so that makes it legal and ethical. WRONG!

I have used CopyScape and found it to be a very good tool for me to use on a regular basis. I am not too much worried about my articles getting ripped off as there is always a way to get the problem fixed in the case that it does occur. People can only go so far when stealing content.

That is a great find, Dactyl. This is a great tool especially for people who post articles that they write themselves. It is never safe to post anything over the internet because people can just copy them and there is really nothing you can do about it.
