I found an interesting opportunity with a very small initial investment. I am interested in anybody who has started their own business with the American Association of Elder Safety Counselors (AAESC). www.aaesc.org I found them on one of the franchise boards, checked out their better business bureau rating and sent an inquiry. Everything seems above board and on the level. No MLM, be your own boss, and full training and certification provided. I'm just about ready to pull the trigger. Any comments or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I have been looking for work with no luck. This sounds like an opportunity to be my own boss from home. Thanks |

Hi Lila, I had a look at the website and the concept is quite interesting, so I can see why it appeals, although I wouldn't have considered the fees and training costs as a small initial investment myself. The other thing to think about are the advertising costs involved in creating a client base. The company has made it look pretty good, but honestly, it seems highly unlikely to me that you'd have anywhere near the sort of income they say is possible in the first year or two - but you would have ongoing expenses. It would be good to do a little market study to examine your local demographics to see if this is a business that would really fly. You need to know how many elderly there are in the population base of your community as well as their financial resources. The elderly who depend on their pension may find the fee prohibitive. Just a few things to think about before you plug in. ![]() Another question I would have is how well known is AAESC?' Would being accredited by this organization actually create a lot more credibility for you? (I personally had never heard of them before.) Or could you do this on your own? Depending on your contacts and how well known you are already - you might be able to start your business through referrals - which will give you more credibility than a red t-shirt. ![]() Not to mention an extra $1000 bucks to put into advertising. The best! Tula |

Seems quite interesting. But would like to see if more people have experience to share.
