I would have to agree with all above replies. Nothing comes for free. And if you want to make money you need to work for it.

Some people have a knack for making money online others have to earn theirs in the real world. It would truely make life a little easier if there was an honesty hotline. A simple number you could call to get all the right answers and know that they are true 100%, but that obviously is not the case. So it is important to always be aware and research as much as possible before you pay for anything.

I have been burned before as many have, but I chaulk it up to my lack of experience and consider a lesson learned (although expensive in some cases).

I have tried many and kept a few home based businesses. And for me I suppose I simply do not want to be locked into one business where I might feel I'm trapped for th rest of my life. And for that reason I have not taken any of them to the next level of success. I know. How crazy is that.

Anyway here they are and I still earn decent money with each.

1.Screen Printing - I bought a small 4 color screen printing press and print shirts for friends and local groups and organizations. After the initial cost (approx. $1000) it pretty much supports itself. But I would be bored out of my mind if I had to do that 5 days a week all day long.

2. Airbrush Tattoos - I enjoy festivals and fairs. So I figured if I was going to be there why not make money doing it. It only cost me about $500 overall to get everything I needed. And depending on the event, it can cost you anywhere from $35 to $300 to get a booth, but I've made as much as $850 in one day.

3. BeachBody Coach - This is a network marketing company. The same one that produces the workout P90X. It only cost $185 to get started and you get their business starter kit, two pre-made websites, 25% discount on all of their products (which I use anyway because I'm doing P90X). And for the most I just direct people to my websites and they purchase from there and I get weekly direct deposits.

4. I also do some handyman work. Now this use to be my main business from home. It was my sole income for almost two years. But talk about stress. No work, no pay. So you always have to hussle to get business to make bills, rent, etc. So now I have just scaled down the operation do the jobs that make the most...floors. I lay tile and laminant floors and because it's not my main soutce of income I'm not forced to drop my prices just to get the bid. This is the price like it or not.

5. Last but not least is my regular job. Now this is not a work at home job. This is a regular job. A bi-weekly paycheck, insurance adn paid holidays. This job keeps me from stressing out as I build my other work at home jobs. Evetually as they build and start to bring in more moolah I will be able to cut back here and evetually leave it all together. I'm pretty lucky in the fact that I actually enjoy my job and it makes good money. However, we have all seen good things just stop being good.

So I suggest keeping a lot of irons in the fire and keep them all moving. You will know when its time to drop one or to give a little more attention to another.

If it sounds too good to be true...it probably is. Hard work will get you money.

Peace
Doug

Hi Jamere. It sounds like you have had a bad experience with a home business. I am sorry about that. Sometimes though we can learn from those experiences as we seek out what works for us. Tula and Jacovsamuel had some good advice for you. The advice I would give is to think about what you enjoy in life then find a business which has good products that you can believe in with a wide variety that you would use in your own home everyday, an ethical company that you can believe in, a strong support system in that company where there are lots of people you can ask for help when needed and who are willing to give that help. From there take a look at the compensation plan and how it works. Don't look at the compensation first and if a company is promising that you will get rich quick, steer away!
Now, you must realize though that this is a business and not a job. You own your business. You are not just an employee so it is up to you to make something of it. Think of a McDonald's franchise for instance. You are putting in a lot of money upfront. Would you then sit home and do other things or would you make sure that you are going in and making sure you do everything to make your McDonald's the best it can be and attract as many people as you can attract? Of course you would! It is the same thing with a home business. It is easy to get distracted with other things because you are at home but you still have to think of this as a big business and put in the time, effort and possibly money to make it be the best it can be. It won't happen without that. As my business supporting upline says, "It takes time or money" to make this work but you will need a lot of one or the other or a medium amount of both. My business is one that doesn't take much money to start and I have been able to work it on a tight budget but I HAVE been able to put effort in and the evidence is in my paycheck which gets bigger and bigger as time goes on! Hope this helps
