I don't know if there is another thread, pertaining to this subject matter.. I couldn't find any. Could you please list the best, the most informative IM books, packed with specific instructions. I don't think you need to read a hundred books. Two or three good ones is probably enough. If you have any ideas for me, please let me know. Thanks!! |

I think Internet Marketing is just too vast to have everything explained in just one book. Most books I've read seem to concentrate on specific areas only ie, Google Adwords, Creating Infoproducts, Blogging, Website Design, Programming, etc. It'll be interesting to see if anyone else have found a 'bible' on IM. ???? |

I'm a pack rat and have been collecting every IM ebook I can find (about 210 to date, most recently discovered), and most are designed in that long, thin layout with breathless multi-colored, various font-sized copy filled with backstories and testimonials, promises of great wealth in days or weeks and the inevitable sales pitch at the end ("now only $97 – for a limited time!"). However, I have come across a few actual gems thus far. Presently I am reading "The 13 Pillars of internet marketing" (13pillars dot com) by David Bain (seems to be a conservative Scottish fellow). It's free, as are his accompanying website videos (taken from his seminar). I think this ebook alone would keep one busy for some time. He covers keywords, website design, blogs, links, articles, etc. I am going to implement his technical advice for the backend of my website immediately. There is no desperate salesmanship dripping from it – it is rather levelheaded. And free. A few years ago I came across Rosalind Gardner's legendary "The Super Affiliate Handbook". The 2003 version was free; the 2007 version is $47 (probably discounted from $97, ha!). It is also quite good. I did notice that her 2003 subtitle is, "How I made $436,797 Last Year...", whereas the 2007 version says "How I made $436,797 In One Year..." (implying she hasn't repeated that success since; I don't know). She's still in business. Speaking of Google, search for "affiliate ebooks" and go to town. Weed out the hucksters wearing plaid suits and benefit from the rest. PS: I still wonder why those IM's making 6 and 7 figures bother to write and push this stuff; maybe there's more money to be made in selling to other IM's than to the general public (?). |

-How I Made My First Million (and How You Can Too!) by Ewen Chia ^all about affiliate marketing and he lists tons of awesome resources in the back of the book -Super Affiliate Handbook by Rosalind Gardner ^another one on affiliate marketing. amazing resource tho, regarded as one of the leader books on IM -Make a Fortune Promoting Other People's Stuff Online by Rosalind Gardner ^almost a watered-down version of the Super Affiliate Handbook, but only like $20. Great book for affiliate marketing. -Success Stories of the Online Superstars by Mitch Meyerson ^a compilation of interviews of 12-14 people (i think) on different areas of IM -No Business Like E-Business by Ravi Jagapogal ^pretty good resource that tells you about starting up, and covers a lot of technical aspects not mentioned in other books -Moonlighting On The Internet by Yanik Silver ^This is the book that got me into IM. It covers making/selling info products, affiliate marketing, selling on eBay, e-commerce stores, and blogging. The chapter on Info products (Ch. 1) is amazing and should open your eyes a bit to the things you can do. The book overall does a good job of telling about the things you can do to make money online, but it doesn't delve too far into how to do those things. Still a good resource tho. -eMillions by Stanley Tang ^i'm not a big fan of Stanley Tang at all, but this book has some good info in it. He interviews 14 big names in IM, but spends half the interview talking about their background. The 'meat' of the interviews is pretty good. As with Mitch Meyerson's book, this one covers different areas of IM. -E-Riches v2.0 by Scott Fox ^a very awesome book on social media marketing. Probably better than most of the other social media books out there. -The E-Code by Joe Vitale (and someone else) ^Very cool book.. It tells you about like 44 things you can do to make money online. It doesn't tell you how to set any of those up tho, but if you're a creative person there are tons of great nuggets of info here. -The Adsense Code by Joel Comm ^anything and everything you ever wanted to know about making money with Google's Adsense -Portable Empire by Pat O'Bryan ^awesome book on getting started with IM, and covers most of the areas you need to focus on to get your 'portable empire' started (which just means working from you laptop from anywhere in the world...) Okay, that's about it.. There's a lot of IM books out there, but not too many of them are really any good, and most of the ones that are don't tell you how to do things. These ones tho either do tell you how to do things or they just have great info in them. Hope that helps! |

No such book exists. IM success is mostly about one thing - traffic. Assuming you can find a niche and build a site and monetise it in some way - all very simple -focus your efforts on PPC and SEO, and be prepared to build a business over the course of a year or more. The very best books for massive success are Mind Power books. Mind Power is my main niche and I can tell you that success at IM, like success with anything in life is 90% Mind and 10% application. Those not believing this or failing to observe this truth will always fail. All success starts in the Mind. IM is just a way of providing a tangible channel of manifestation. All the top sports people know this as well. |

IM success is hard work, a lot of coffee, and a lot of trial, error and failures on the road to success Forums, Blogs is where all the info is... IMHO.

I will give you my recommendations in the areas that I work in: Make Your Site Sell - Ken Evoy - My copy is from 1999 old but still very relevant and explains the basics and also helps with headlines and copywriting. The Insider Secret to Marketing your business on the Internet - Corey Rudl - Unfortunately Corey was killed in a car accident but this is a massive tome filled with great information. Look for other titles by Mike Filsaime, Ryan Deiss and Ewen Chia all good stuff My favourite in IM is Frank Kern - not everyones taste but I have a copy of Mass Control which is excellent if you are into the psychology of sales and how to apply it. |
