| Does anyone here have a real home business like mine? Not to be confused with internet business based at home or work for someone else while sitting at home. If so, this may help. The products on my site are manufactured in, boxed in and shipped from my home. The items required for the services I render, are stored at my home. I use the web site only as visual go between and contact medium. I use word of mouth to advertise a premium product and premium service for a reasonable price. Word of mouth has been around for over 3,000yrs. It’s time tested and free. The click through rate for word of mouth passed along from a friend is well over 70%. You will not get that from any internet program. I was on a home business forum like this with over 20,000 members where you could post your site address right from the start. After 24hrs, I had 37 post and over 200 views of my post with my site address in it. Only two viewers clicked through to look at my site. The click through rate was under 1%. Most people are only here to get out there site address, not to look at yours. I personally opened over 50 sites my self just to get an idea of what everyone was doing. Half of them were scams or not on the level. So if your on here hoping to get free advertising after putting in 50 goofy post, your barking up the wrong advertising medium and most likely wasting a lot of peoples time. Personally, I don’t like being presumed guilty till proven innocent, put no one is forcing me to be here it‘s my choice. Other than that, it’s a good forum and the ones that are here for help will get some good info. Just my opinion based on my own experience Hope this helps BizzB PS: Is it me, or is this forum sloooow mooooving. Come on people, start posting. Try something new. Take notes, get real results, and post the them for all to see. Every one out there has tryed something. Tell us what you tried and what were the results. That way we won't waste our time trying the same thing. PSS: If you haven’t all ready, check out all my other post. Has any body here had any dealings with the direct marketing company "The Longaberger Co?" Jamison, please check it out and give it your blessing. |

The funny thing is, there are a number of multi-millionaire marketers that pop in this forum and people don't take advantage of that. People come here and read posts, while the best information has yet to be drawn out. People here are not presumed guilty. The purpose of the 50 post rule is to discourage the people that are only here to try and market their opportunity. I do not want this to turn into a spam board where people come to make useless comments so that they can post a link. There was plenty of that going on back in the day. If someone wants to discuss a specific business opportunity, there is the "Opportunity Review" section of this site. Just be prepared to get honest feedback. BTW - Longaberger Co looks like a legitimate opportunity. Although, I don't see any testimonials on the site. Maybe I am looking in the wrong place. |

I would think that with the 50 post rule, anyone who is looking just to get the link to their site seen here, would not stick around that long. There are many other forums where you can get your site linked with just one or two posts. MichelleJayes |

This forum has been cleaned up a lot. Some of the other forums I participate on also have this type of rule. These are big successful boards. I think it is a good rule to have.

I totally agree with everyone. I was not knocking this forum. The part about the advertising was only intended for those who were on here just for that purpose. As for the 50 post. Some people on here may have over 50 post, but if you look at all of them, half of them are just one liners. What is need is a membership fee. That will keep out the spammers and the people that don’t really want to be here. I use to belong to a forum that charged $12.00 a year to be a member. At that time it had over 600 members and at least 90% were contributing at least 2 or 3 post a week. After seeing and reading some of the post on this forum, I would gladly be willing to pay a small membership fee to be here. Just conceder it tuition for what your learning. I went to this forum’s membership list, clicked on A and personally went to every members stats on the first 10 pages. Out of 300 members, only 35 had one or more post and 24 of those posts were older than 2 months. Even if you only charge $2.00 for a lifetime membership this will cut down the spammers to almost 0. I totally understand about the 50 posts. It's ok. But this forum does assume you are here to spam. That’s why you have to prove your intentions with the 50 post before you can link. Besides, my link was available for all to see before I ever made my first post. If I was here just for the link, I would have left after my first post. I found out on my last forum, out of the 117 members that saw my link in the first 24hrs, only 2 had clicked on it and look at the site. That is less than 1%. Thanks again to everyone who has posted on my post. Hope this clears up the misunderstanding or maybe there was no misunderstanding and this was for nothing ![]() BizzB |

| The Bottom Line: Fish where the fish are biting. If you fish in a pond you won't catch much salmon or big game fish. If you fish in a toilet bowl, it's not hard to guess what you'll catch. Of the Four Critical Performance Factors that determine the success of any print-based ad (including most online ads), the #1 factor is targeting your right audience. Sounds like you were targeting entirely the wrong audience, then drawing entirely the wrong conclusions. But, since around 90% of small and home-based business owners do the same, it's not exactly a surprise. ![]() John Counsel |

I appreciate your approach to keep this forum information oriented instead of just being an advt. platform.
