I am not a big fan of purchasing leads. I would much rather generate the leads myself. I do this through PPC, media buys, social media marketing, and other forms of advertising.

Like I have said before, there is no such thing as "free" advertising. Even the so-called free methods require a time investment. Time is the most valuable thing you have. You need to think about it like this. You are going to have to make an investment no matter what. It is either going to be time or money. It will likely be a combination of both. Personally, I would much rather invest money because my time is much to valuable. With that being said, it is not easy to build a business without any capital. All of the "free" methods are a lot of work. For example, you could start creating videos for Youtube. This takes work. Personally, I love video marketing, but it takes time and effort nonetheless. You could use social media marketing. With social media marketing, you are still going to need to either develop content or have it developed for you. This content then needs to be distributed to the proper sites. There is work involved. I like to pay to have this done for me. Buying leads is risky. You have to wonder how many times each lead has been sold. You also do not know how the leads were generated. These leads obviously did not respond directly to YOUR offer. Leads like this are generally not very good. Even if they are any good, what are you going to do with them? Call them? If so, be prepared for a lot of rejection. This doesn't sound like very much fun to me. I am not trying to rain on your parade here. I am just trying to paint a picture of reality. This is why it is so important to choose the right mentor. A good mentor would be able to provide you with the training and direction you need to be successful. How are you planning on differentiating yourself from everyone else out there promoting this same offer? What unique value do you bring to the table? How are you going to help the people you bring into your team when you are new to marketing yourself. Please don't take what I am saying the wrong way. My goal is not to burst your bubble. If you are going to be successful in this business, you are going to have to think these things through. |

Yes I've purchased leads that have worked and they weren't expensive. My first batch I purchased at an intro price of 99 cents for 110 leads. After the intro price the leads cost $100 for 110 but they also have an affiliate program so that once you refer three other people who move from the intro price to the $100 leads, your leads are basically free ( and you can actually make some money) They also replace bad leads at a ratio of 2 to 1. And are easy to contact for service. BUT you should bear in mind, that even with a good lead list, a very small percentage of people on that list will be interested in what you have to offer AND only a small percentage of those people will convert to customers or become part of your down-line. You also have to consider that many people on the list will not be home when you call.

Nowadays, we build marketing systems. This makes it easy for anyone to plug into the system. It also serves as a sales funnel to do all of the selling, telling, explaining, FOR you. The problem is not being able to purchase inexpensive leads to call. The problem is building a team of people that are going to be successful with this type of marketing. Cold calling and sales is an art. Mot many people are good at it and most people are afraid of rejection. If you think this sounds like fun, go for it. With the Internet, we have evolved past this business model. If you want to be successful with mlm, network marketing and direct sales businesses today, I would encourage you to learn how to use the new technology. Learn how to build a sales funnel that causes people to join your business AUTOMATICALLY. Develop a system that your team can plug into so they can be successful. In the traditional method, most people who get involved fail. There are many reasons people fail in this business including: They don't have a unique value proposition. They get tired of rejection. They don't know how to set their team up for success. They don't have a good mentor to point them in the right direction. And more... 99 percent of people fail in network marketing. If you are going to be successful, you are going to have to do things differently. I would challenge anyone to prove me wrong. Go out and build a successful team using traditional methods and come back here with proof. When I say successful, I mean you are making enough money to live off and you have people on your team that are doing the same. I am not telling you this because I have a hidden agenda. I was involved in traditional mlm team building many years ago. I would never think about trying to build a business that way today. Internet marketing is the way to go. There are very few people in the network marketing industry that are using the Internet effectively. Most of the people in this niche are amateurs. I think it is easy to beat out the competition once you know what to do. Of course, you can do whatever you want. Most people will try to take shortcuts and will not listen. They will end up spinning their wheels and not getting anywhere. Most people will give up after a short time and begin to believe that it just doesn't work. If that is you, you couldn't be more WRONG. |

I am a big user of free leads, advertising etc. I do pay for some. The first thing I have learned is that you most likely won't get many hits the first time, so my rule is to post the same ad a minimum of six times. Individuals then start to trust you and click on your ads. Your title needs to be eye catching also and it always helps to give something away to get them to sign up on your list. Once they sign up on your list, let your auto responder take over. My first question to you is, "Do you have a marketing plan??" Michael Camire Last edited by Jamison; 04-08-2009 at 12:29 PM. There is some good info in this thread. I completely agree with Jamison on the points about traditional network marketing. The fact is, most people failed using these methods. I have been there and it SUCKED! Cold calling??? I don't think so. There are MUCH BETTER ways of going about doing it today.
