One thing I have discovered over the years is that one of the biggest differences between people that are successful and the people that are not, is that the people who are successful TAKE ACTION. This is one of the keys to success. Many people feel like they have to do something perfect before they are willing to take action. This is a mistake. It is much better to take action, even if is "imperfect" action. When taking action, you can learn a lot from the feedback that you receive. You want to pay close attention. You want to learn everything you can from this feedback. All the time I see amateur type websites with fundamental problems being marketed on Adwords. The funny thing is, these same sites show up over and over week after week. These people are making money. People don't continue to run losing campaigns for long periods of time. Then there are the people who are tring to build the perfect site who can never seem to get the site launched. Frequently, I get email from people who tell me they are making some decent money on the Internet. Sometimes when I look at their website, it is hard to believe that they could possibly making money. The copy is off... the site doesn't look professional... they don't have a single conversion goal... Yet, they are making money! My point here is that you don't have to wait until everything is perfect. In many cases, it is much better to take "imperfect action" than no action at all. Even marketing experts often launch sites that are not complete or completely polished. You could be making money and getting valuable feedback while you are perfecting and polishing everything... |

I find that by just getting started with something even if I am not sure of what I am doing, it is easier to learn by doing, rather than waiting until you have more knowledge. Knowledge comes with practice. michellejayes |

Totally agree. Learn as you go gives you experience, one of life's most effective lessons. It's easier that way, too, because you just DO each step as you learn it. If you try to DO them all at once, chances are you'll become overwhelmed. Tula |

Now, that isn't to say that you shouldn't hone your skills. I am a big believer in being the best you can be. However, you can't wait until you are the best to take action and move forward. |
