Look for the company in Ripoff Report: By Consumers, For Consumers and also check under the better business bureau. Ask around offline and online and see what others are saying. You can definitley find the good or bad about a company just by searching the net. Rip off Report has other people's opinions on there and mostly complaints on companies that have scammed them. I looked up my work at home company on there before I joined and there was not one complaint on them And a great record with the BBB.

Before joining anything now I do a whois search. While this does not always tell you everything, it will help to weed out the scammers.

That's an excellent idea Russ. I think it's a shame that more people do not fully research the companies that they are getting into before they lay out any money. If more people took the initiative to inspect who they are dealing with, scammers would be far less successful.

The best way is to read information from reliable sources though and not take opinions and ads of competitors. A reliable company will not bad mouth another company just to make another sale.

I agree research and thorough due diligence in the front end will save you years of frustration, time and tons of money.

I believe if people have an intention and a specific list of what they want in a business model and system upfront before they start searching. It is not good to make a decision unless if you have specific intention.

After 3 years of a traditional offline mlm business, I spent over $15,000, drove tons of miles, attended monthly meetings, quarterly meetings, etc. It was a great experience. Checks were small. However, this experience (some may call it a failure) helped me build a list of what expectations I have in a business model. Every seed of failure brings the equivalent seed of benefit and everything happens for a reason.

I did not search until I developed this list. Then I let law of attraction take over along with the intention and specified business model I was looking to attract. I am grateful for the past experience and persistence because it let me to make more in a few months - monthly then I spent over the course of 3years. It was well worth it.

This is very informative and I still find it hard to believe a lot of people fall for the get rich schemes and the work at home offers sent via email and even seen on TV.
