Paul, You said make sure you send your website to major search engines. How do you do that? What do you have to do to help ensure they know of your websites? |

| Nowadays, you don't need to submit to the search engines. You allow the search engines to find you naturally. A good way to have the search engines find you is to get some inbound links. If you are just launching your site, you may want to do a press release through PR Web. It is inexpensive and can get some decent visibility. If you do this, be sure to read up on "optimizing" your press release.

Paul, Any chance you can share a URL with us to show a site at the top of Google? Proof goes a long way. BTW - Don't take this the wrong way. Everyone claims to be an expert today. Showing a little proof adds a lot of credibility. |

Adding blog section to the site, submitting articles, commenting on do-follow blogs will help you. As an alternative, you may outsource SEO services also, that is what most of the web owners are doing now a days.

There is a tool to find do-follow blogs by Jason Potash called "Comment Kahuna" available for free that helps you find relevant do-follow blogs to comment on. There are other tools out there as well, but this one works pretty good. If you are going to be commenting on blogs, be sure to make relevant comments and try to add value. Blog spam is different that blog commenting. Jamison |

I used to pay a lot with PPC advertising. It works... but when you start a business you want to earn money... Getting traffic to your site can be done totally free! Look for information on SEO, linkbuilding etc... it's easy and it works fine if done correctly. Start with good content on your site. Eventually, make some pages on your site with /keyword1 /keyword2 etc... Start with 5 to 10 keywords you want to be found for in Google... Each page has a good content about a specific keyword... /earn-money.html is about earn extra money etc... while /work-from-home is about your offer to work from home. That's obvious. Don't forget to change the titles and meta tags of all your pages. (you can do it with just 1 homepage but it works better for a few more )Next step is to place links on other websites. Search in Google which sites are in the top 10 for your 5 keywords so you know who your 5 concurrent sites are. Then you search a tool to know which sites are linking to them. (free version of Arelis or something other. You have to find this yourself. There are many possibilities like Alexa, typing link:www.yoursite.com in Google etc...) By doing this you know which sites link to your strongest competitors. Imagine them linking to YOUR site... That's how you can get in the top 10 in Google for your particular keywords! This can go fast. BUT! Do this step by step so Google sees this happens 'naturally'. So how can you ask all these sites to link to your site? Most of them know that linkbuilding is very important. Some sites have a form where you can give your url, site title etc... other sites ask to mail them to ask for a 'linkchange' This is called 'reciprocal' linking. You make a /links.html page on your site and THEN ask others to link to you. IF POSSIBLE, always use an anchortext in your links. This is very important! Don't just link with 'www.yoursite.com' type of links, but use a text in your link. For example: I have a successful website in Belgium about working from home ('thuiswerk' in dutch) and when I put a link on another website I always use a link like thuiswerk and as you can see it links with this keyword to the /thuiswerk.html page. The most important thing about this is that you don't do this on websites with the intention that PEOPLE click on this. This traffic is EXTRA traffic, but it is for GOOGLE to see this links with its 'spider' and that's the way your site will be found by thousands of people throug GOOGLE when they search your keywords... Step by step, you can make new pages and keep linking others to your site and pages. That's how you can do it for FREE! Once done, there's traffic... and it's passive, even when you sleep... becuase the links are build yet. If you do PPC... you have to pay every click... In the beginning you can do that and still... as an extra... but on the long term: focus on free traffic! Thank you Michelle |

In addition, you never want to start off with SEO. You want to start of with PPC to test your conversion rate and to be sure you understand what your "money keywords" are. To begin an SEO campaign without making sure you are converting properly and knowing what terms to go after can be a big mistake. You see, not all keywords convert into sales. There are different genres of keywords. Some are educational. Others are buying keywords. Some keywords you just plain do not want to go after because no one is searching for them. If you want to be successful with Internet marketing, you want to be sure you have a firm grasp of these concepts. Beginning a SEO campaign without having a firm grasp on what keywords to go after, can be like shooting in the dark. You will end up wasting time and resources chasing after keywords that will not make you money. Not only that. If you start an SEO campaign without making sure your site is converting, you are also making a serious mistake. You could be driving all the traffic in the world, but if your site is not converting people into sales, you are still not going to be successful. PPC is where we always begin. It is the fastest way to begin testing your site or landing pages to be sure the conversion rate is acceptable. You continue to run PPC to find out what the buying keywords are. Again, these are the keywords people use in your niche when they are getting ready to make a purchase. It is critical to figure this out. After you know your site is converting properly and you understand what keywords convert into sales, you are ready to begin SEO and to start going after the natural search. There really is no such thing as free advertising. If something takes time, it is not free. Time is really the most valuable thing we have. Often times, paid advertising is the least expensive advertising. Jamison |
