i am just starting out with my home based business . i know that one needs to have money to start a business but is there any free advertizing that i can do until i get things off and running

You really DON'T need money to start a home based business, especially if you are starting an online business! I started online nearly two years ago, and I have NEVER spent any money other than for my website (12.95 per month).

There are endless ways to advertise your business - blogging, writing articles, posting on forums, submitting a press release, doing search engine optimization on your website, classified ads - I could go on and on.

The problem most people have is getting traffic to their website. I suggest you blog and write LOTS of keyword rich articles for traffic generation. I write 2 or 3 articles per day related to my site, and 90% of my traffic comes from articles and my blog.

I agree, you don´t need money.Start a blog, write good content and concentrate on getting links back to your site.This can be done by commenting on other related blogs and using social sites as mybloglog for instance.

Squidoo.com (Google loves this and you can sometimes be in the search results of potential customers by using "keywords" in you post/blogs)

YouTube.com- ( I am sure you know this one, if you make a video it doesn't have to be you on the video holding a product, it could be text with pics and music [make sure music is approved through you tube so their are no copyright issues])

Scribd.com- Great for presentations or PDF ads

SlideShare.com-Great for power point presentations

InstantBuzz.com- Free (as the above) advertising yet the price is having their toolbar with advertisements on them yet this is where others see your advertisements as well
