Selecting effective keywords can bring high traffic, high search engine rankings and good income through AsSense ads on your site.

Selecting the Right Keyword

- First, choose long tail keywords (a phrase with 3 to 5 words). The more specific the keyword, the less competition.
- Once you have a keyword list, go to WordTracker ( ) and enter each keyword. Select the keywords that get searched 200 times or more per day.
- Go to Google and type each keyword with quotes: “my keyword here”. Google will show a personalized results number (top of the page). This number represents the number of sites competing for that keyword. Select keywords with less than 1,000,000 results. The lower the number, the less competition.
- Use the best keyword(s) on all of your pages, and place a link (anchor text) back to the home page using the best keyword on your links as your “niche keyword”.

This will give you an edge over your competition, more clicks on your AdSense ads and better rankings with the search engines
