One that offers leverage of your time and money and offers a high return on investment. Also you have to believe in the product or service. It is best to be in front of a trend.

All the best,
Danyelle

My answer is webhosting business. If you are having a good amount of money and good knowledge over webhosting and server management then you can earn a lot with a few invertements.

The best type of home business, is a very vague statement and honestly can only be answered by the business owner. For me the best type of home business revolves around an Internet connection and the ability to sell virtual based services to customers.

I would have to disagree with the webhosting, too many people do it and do it incorrectly.

As far as best, it really has to be along the lines of something you enjoy, for instance my mom goes around to the storage unit auctions and bids on units that people did not pay their bills on, then she turns around and sells the stuff on ebay.

Sounds easy enough right? Well I would hate it.... sometimes you get a load of crap cause you cannot search the units before you bid. then you have to have a place to store it all, and organize and clean out the garbage, it really is a full time tedious job that does not fit all personality types.

There is no right or wrong answer to this, but, my initial reaction and immediate assumption is an internet based business.

What better way then to have your store accessible by billions of people world wide? Or even going on vacation and running your business through a laptop and wi-fi? How about sipping some lemonade (or a martini for those of us who are old enough) on a beach coast while accessing the wi-fi from the hotel and closing a $20,000 deal?

That's my American Dream, and thats why I'm entirely based on the internet. No ands, ifs, or buts. The internet is going to be the biggest thing for online ecommerce and consumers are beginning to trust it more and more as time goes on and as the Generation X grows up.

True, internet is the ultimate medium for making money in the near future, everyone should think how to make the most of it, I cant believe that some major companies in my area don't have a website yet

And what area is that Dactyl? Maybe I can give them some emails offering my services :-p

Just kidding, but it's a shame that not all companies are online yet. It's a huge factor in deciding whether or not that company is legit, and many times, if they don't have a website, they can lose and put off potential customers.

heh, I've seen lots of companies (especially brick and morter) get an ugly static website that mentions their contact details, which I dont consider bieng online as well, they just dont seem to get the idea of how they can benefit from the internet, I guess its our job to teach them

Yea. Thats a good point brought up. A lot of brick and morter places don't understand the concept, or fail to grasp the advantages of being online. WIth that said, a lot of them think it's used just for their contact information, when it can be used for much, much more.

That is why every now and then when I go door-to-door soliciting my services, I explain fully to them what benefits it can give them, and I also have a prepared powerpoint that I show them on my laptop.
