Building Success even on a PT basis
Working a home based business is a long term process. Anyone looking to get rich quick overnight is in for nothing but disappointment.
There are a couple things that can help build a successful home business even working on a part time basis. I started my business part time and have been able to build it into my full time sole source of income.
Here are a few things that will help in any home business venture:
Get Organized
Set a schedule and stick to it. Even if it is only 30 minutes or an hour in the evenings. You have to consistenly work at it to build a base.
Have A Mentor
Starting a home business that you just sign up for or pay a fee and have to figure it out alone is very hard to do. I know I had a couple people I could lean on for advice or help when I was not sure what to do.
This allowed me to continue to grow a little bit at a time while I learned this business and now I return that by mentoring those who want to do the same thing.
Follow Up
Whenever you talk to someone who is interested in your business, product, service it is important to follow up. Not to the point of being pushy but just a couple times. I personally never follow up more than twice because I prefer to utilize my time on people who "get it". If I have to follow up more than twice they obviously do not "get it". Time to move on.
Be Persistent
Every business has ups and downs. Successful people can push through the downs and continue to work for success. The easiest thing to do is give up. It is much harder to succeed in the eye of failure.
Eliminate The Negative
There is no doubt that whenever someone starts a home business there will be people who have a negative attitude about it. If you believe in what you are doing then eliminate those negative forces. You do not have to remove those people from your life just do not talk to them about your business.
You'll be amazed at how many of those negative people are suddenly interested when they see it is working for you.
Step Out Of Your Comfort Zone
Being afraid to talk to people about your business is not going to help you grow at all. If you find you are ashamed to talk to friends and family about what you are doing then you probably are not in the right business.
People who believe in what they are doing want to tell the world about their business.
Never Stop Learning
I plug into the constant training provided by my home business. We have a training site and daily training calls that are available to everyone. If you have these resources...USE THEM.
Truly smart people realize they do not know everything and are constantly searching for that little tip to help explode their business. I do not always sit on our training calls but I will follow up on the training site later and listen to them as they are recorded. Always strive to learn more about your business, advertising techniques and training techniques.
Have a "winning attitude"
You have to fight through and continue to believe you will succeed no matter what.
