can anyone suggest a good live chat software that doest cost to much, ive seen some great programs around but the price on them is stupid, just to have 6 operaters and 6 different sections is the same price as my first car!

Well, the known scripts out there cost money, live person, php live and their likes do cost, I would look at helpcenterlive, its the best free live chat software that I have used.

for the price you pay it has to bet the best software out there

i use the kayako support desk, top system, i had a look at getting the live support, seems to me its the best around and has a great price

We use Auracle Support System, It is 100% integrated suite. Support Desk, Email Handler, Live chat, Easy to configure. This system runs like an instant message client. You have the admin interface installed on your desktop and you control every last aspect of your website from it, including the news. $25 / month or $150 for a full license.

The auracle support system also handles all your website statistics so really you are cutting down on the number of programs needed.

There are also tracking plugins available for things such as affiliate system.

One of the cool things of this system unlike others is that if you have multiple websites there is no need to purchase additional licenses.

I use phplive with great success. Its easy to set up, has tracking features, etc... Good price too.

If its free you want, helplivecenter is one, but there is another one that comes standard with Fantastico. It seemed like a better choice than helplivecenter.

Auracle has everything it is a complete solution for the same price as php live, why pay the same price for php live when it is only a chat script? and can only be used on one website?

Auracle license is good for as many sites as you own.

So is phplive.

I would personally go with Kayako helpdesk, one of the best I've used.

I used to use Kayako, They are over priced and their software does nothing more than Auracle.

Don't get me wrong I loved their product, but the license price is double that of Auracle for their full Suite last time I checked
