Like most businesses, you can sometimes not see any profits during the first year of operating your internet home business as you are inexperienced in the way e-commerce work. What have you experienced so far?

That pretty much describes my first year. I barely made pennies and spent money beyond the little I made to keep things going. The reason I kept at it was because I knew I was capable of making things happen. My second year, which isn't quit over yet has seen a dramatic difference. By the end of the year I expect to have made enough to equal 50% of my yearly income from my regular job, will have left that job to pursue the project of writing some books and continue working on building my travel business. Most people get discouraged in their first few months or get bored in the same amount of time. So what do they do? They quit.. but what they don't know is that there is a learning curve. You have to learn how to create a business around the things you do online whether it be MLM, freelance work or blogging. None of these alone is a business but you have to learn how to make them a piece of the puzzle and build the business.

Well thanks for the warning. I wanted to know though--how is the support from your spouses? If you are married. The business that I am currently with is my third, so my husband is not much of a support. He really wants me to give-up on online businesses all together. What do you all suggest? What can I say, I have big dreams and owning my own business is the only way to go--I think. Thanks. aj |

Aj, Don't give up your dreams but don't neglect the spouse either... Remember every failure is a step closer to success!

Yes very true! I had a great mentor who told me what not to do. But hey did I listen? No way but I truly know what’s going on after all the failures. Stick with it!! As they say "100% success is 99% failure" |

Great jukeboxheroe, we're glad you like it here, we hope you'll stay forever Speaking about being supportive, I just have to say, my husband is the most supportive person. I can imagine how crazy he though I was when I told him I was going to start writing for a living. I don't even think he knew that I knew how to write But, he has been very helpful and encouraging. And, since September is my best earning month so far, he believes that my income will continue to increase....so the more money I make, the more supportive he becomes |

It takes everyone a different amount of time. I think it took me 3-4 years before I started making money online, but now I've been doing it for 9-10 years. This is why I suggest, to those looking to start something, is that they choose something they are interested in -- something you are willing to work at day after day until you can learn to make an income from it. Best Regards, Steve MacLellan |
