Smile How to Find Work at Home Opportunities

Nowadays there are numerous work at home opportunities for those looking to work from home and make some decent income. However, it is important that you should find out the right work at home job which is best for you. Though there may be numerous work at home opportunities for a price, there may be some scams involved here. This is because you don’t actually pay someone to work for or with them. Of course there may be expenditure related to starting of the business like money for equipment, software, stock, etc. So if you are not sure if the payment is legitimate or not, it is better to ask the company directly what the amount is for; and for added security, check with the Better Business Bureau.

Instead of looking around for work at home opportunities, sometime people you know, and local companies may have work for people like you who prefer working from home. This is a safer option as you know the person you get yourself involved with. However if you do make applications in various companies for a work from home job, keep track of all the applications you make to avoid any overlapping of applications.

The internet provides great resources for those working from home. There are many message boards and forums, like WAHM that help you find legitimate work. This is because these companies are always on the look out for scams, and can guide you to avoid these scam companies.

Instead of working from home for another person, you can pretty well start a work at home business if you have a particular hobby or trade. The market for such businesses is rather feasible; all you need to do is to advertise yourself both offline and online, and pretty soon you will be getting business. However make sure you follow local laws and regulations on the running of the business.

When you first start out on a work at home job, you will not be able to be too picky. You may have to accept what comes your way, and then work yourself to the top, to what you really want. However once you get hired, it is important that you have commitment to maintaining deadlines for the employer. Unlike normal jobs, there are no fixed timings for you to work; you work when you want. However you will have to employ some work ethics and follow a time table so that you complete your assignments while working from home, and get awarded newer projects.

It may not always be possible to get a work at home job immediately. You may have to spend months but remember, after these months, you are sure to find something that you enjoy doing while creating a source of income for you just by working from home.

The best opportunities are ones you create for yourself. Let me explain an opportunity I see in my town and surrounding area.

For older people whose movements are become limited either mentally or physically they often rely on support workers. In my area, there are two types of support workers. Ones that are organized by the hospital, and independents. The hospitals resources are limited which means many of are older citizens need to rely on independents. These people work for themselves for minimum wage, but depending on who they are working for, their schedules often come into conflict with each other, which leaves the older person (who may be suffering from some sort of dementia) on her own to try and manage her own workers. Of course, this leads to more conflict and scheduling problems.

My aunt who is 82, is having this problem right now, and a friend of hers who recently passed away had to put up with this for three years.

The first thing I would do is go talk to the older person needing care. I would find out when they need people there, what chores need to be done, etc., and ask them that if I could provide them a smooth and reliable source of workers and make sure all the scheduling was done so they would have someone there when they need them, if they would be willing to pay $12 an hour for this service ($12 per hour when the work is present in their home). This would put my service $4 per hour cheaper than the hospital's service.

If they agreed to this, then the home workers will be coming to me for the jobs. The client would pay me, I would pay the worker, and keep $4 per hour (for each hour the worker was in the home) for my scheduling service.

Since there is a large population of senior citizens in this area, if I could keep 20 workers working for the clients I find, I could be making $80 per hour. Since many of the elderly require people to stay with them overnight it might be a goal to shoot for earning $1000 per 24 hour period.

Of course... realistically this wouldn't happen until you expanded your business past the few clients you interviewed to determine an interest in your service. But once you had a system in place, you could then hire some office help to help you manage it.

The senior citizen would no longer have to worry about NOT having a support worker there when they needed it, and the workers could be organized so their schedules aren't conflicting, and they would be able to take on more jobs.

Look around you. There could be opportunity in your backyard.

Best Regards,
Steve MacLellan
