Default Staying Motivated

How do you stay motivated when working from home? I've been finding that sometimes I feel isolated and get pretty bored and want to slack off - theres no pressure / deadlines except my need for money, and I find it hard to keep working.

I motivate myself by setting easy daily targets, and by making a list of things I want to buy and allocating business money towards them.

What do you do?

You need to have your goals in front of you all the time. This way you are always motivated to more towards achieving them.

I set out a to do list every night and list my tasks in order of importance I give myself so many minutes or complete the task. If I don't finish the task, I move on to the next one until I'm through the list. If I have unfinished tasks then I go back and finish them. If there is no more time that unfinished task is first on the list for the next day.

If I don't manage my time effectively I won't get anything done. I work for about 2-3 hours a day when my kids are napping, and any other time I can squeeze in.

I just got out of a slump. It took some very positive thinking on my part to motivate myself again. Now I'm doing better than I did before the slump.

I am not actually a full-time homebase worker but if I were in your shoe, I'll give myself a reward for staying focused for specific amounts of time. For example,
after I have completed a couple of hours of work, I'll go and make myself a tall glass of iced tea and sit down on the couch for five minutes, away from the computer or my workshop.

I don’t force myself to work too much on the online job opportunities. It could be because I only use it as a part-time job to earn extra cash but nonetheless, I don’t want to push myself to the limit. I like to enjoy what I am doing and I just take my time. If I feel tired already, I stop and take a break.

I frequently spend much of my time doing internet jobs where i can earn big cash. Sometimes I get tired of doing it but then I get motivated when I see my earnings because I have a goal to reach for this coming year. To reach that goal really depends on my hardwork so I keep working but whenever I get tired and sleepy, I stop and take a break.

I just love all your suggestions. I find that motivation is so tough when you work at home at times. There are days when I wake up and dont want to do anything. But I keep in mind that I have bills to pay and kids to feed and that usually motivates me...lol.

What I do is to keep doing what I needed to do for the day depending on my goals and I try to finish everything early. Then I go and do other stuff which I really like, watch a movie for example. If I want to continue working for the day, then I'd work but if I think I've done everything on my schedule and want to do something else, I would not force myself to work.
