How many of you have made the leap to toll free? If you are now in the branding stages of your home business, you will need a toll free number to formally compete. As the business market gets more and more competitive you will need to provide your customers with a free / easy way of calling you! If you don't then you are missing out on an entire market!

I have though tof geting a toll free number, but since my business is a local one, I figure that I do not need a toll free number.

Yes toll free is a good idea if your customers are spread out. But like kaashifv alot of them are local too. But yes it is a good idea.

Toll free numbers are always great, its just more professional to see a company with a toll free number, even if your not planning on using it.

Yep, totally have to agree ... having a toll free number makes you look that much more professional.

Even if it's not used often it's a branding strategy as hysteriaweb orginally wrote.

As an example, I see that many are web hosting firms (very, very competitive field) - having a toll-free number might just give you that edge when a potential is wavering whether to go with you or not.

I guess it's all about building trust and if a toll-free number helps in that regard then go for it.

Well it's really nice to have a toll free phone. People will call you more and much earlier when they have problems. But does it also have bad aspects like high costs for you having this toll free line. What does it cost to have a toll free line?
