There are a lot of blogs about a lot of topics and I'm wondering how do you know what topic will get you some traffic.

I could blog about gardening, family, depression, senior citizens and a number of other items but nothing technical. My brother and I are starting a joint blog about depression. Is there any way to get an idea of the interest level for a blog before you start?

Someone else should be able to better answer, I dont know how to do that yet. But you can search the topics in google and see how many blogs about it and check stats.

I would assume if it is an area that you can talk a lot about it wouldnt matter as much. As long as you can provide good stuff to keep folks coming back for more. I have seen a lot pick hot topics and didnt go anywhere because they didnt provide freshh look or update regular or anything.

The best thing to do about finding an interest level would be to check the keywords related to it and see how many pages come up with the same keywords that will give you not only an idea if it is a good subject but if you have a lot competition.

That's a great suggestion Jess. I know about keywords and doing a search for them to see how popular something is......for some reason I didn't think to do that.

Blog about something that is highly searched for, but also at the same time there has to be not a lot of competition. I'm currently in the making of blogging about insects, hehe.

I too do some blogging. Some thing like adsence. Its a funtion provided by google to earn you money while blogging. Any one tried it before? It seems kind of easy but still I could not figure out how it works. Someone could help?

I have been using Adsense for a while now. I haven't earned enough to be paid though because I don't get enough traffic. Did you say you are writing about Adsense or that you want to learn how Adsense works?

Create a blog that people can relate to. Create a topic that is eye-catching and that people would want to see what it's all about. The blog itself should be interesting and not boring. Keep them longing to read more.
