I still hear people saying to this day that they are going to quit their jobs and make money starting a buisness online. I cringe everytime I hear that because what most people don't realize is that the Internet does not always have a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. Unless you have ridiculous start up capital at your disposal, it is going to take a few solid ideas and lots of time to build, maintain and get you making money. A few tips: 1) Don't put all of your eggs in one basket, try setting up a few seperate smaller online ventures. 2) Pick your business carefuly... make sure there is not too much competition, low overhead and easy to maintain 3) Do lots of SEO... it's free and will only cost you time... be patient as this could take up to a year before you start seing results 4) Always reinvest in the business... tell yourself for every 100 in profits I make, I am going to put $25 to $50 back into the business. 5) Put in the time... it will pay off Last edited by emmaonline; 10-28-2006 at 10:58 AM. |

Yeah but I hate the t.v. ads even worse! Showing the big fancy houses, dream cars and vacations in the Tropics. They make it sound like it is a breeze that anyone can do it and it takes no money and no time.

That is the point of the TV ads, to make it seem even more realistic. Try to remember not to pay for your dreams. Whether you work from home or have a job you go to everyday each one requires hard work and dedication.

Working online can not give you enough money to even equal the money you would earn from working 9 to 5. It's a fact and people who wish to quit their jobs for an online job should think twice before they actually pass their resignation letter because they might regret it later.

I would quit my job to work online. However, I am a homemaker which doesn't pay me a dime. Actually in addition to being a homemaker, I'm an Avon representative and I also do some online writing. I make extra fun money for my husband and I. We are mostly living on his retirement income. |
