| 10 Ways to guarantee an increase in website visitors 1. Word of Mouth- this has always been the best and simplest form of advertising on the planet. Word of mouth can be promotion of your website in daily conversation. 2. Press Release- sending copy to local media sources. Example: radio stations, newspapers and community publications. 3. Articles of Interest- writing about the subject matter of your website and submitting it to various publications and also to other websites. 4. Search Engines- submitting your website information periodically. This is an ongoing and ever changing area of promotion on the Internet. Read article #1: Get Noticed on the Web. 5. Forums- this is a great place to establish web-related relationships. Be careful not to use this an advertising platform. You will discover they do not tolerate it and you will get a bad reputation besides. This is an excellent way to exchange ideas and knowledge. 6. Guestbooks- signing these will reach personal and family sites. The best approach to this is; if you come across a guestbook, sign it. Leave and encouraging word and of course your domain name as a link back to you. 7. Advertising- this can be on and off the web like many of the other ways to promote the website. Plan carefully when using an online source and check their credentials before payment is made. There are now too many scams on the net so caution is key. 8. Link Exchanges- this is a great way to boost your web presence and be seen on the web. 9. Email- sending out “what’s new” is a good way to let present and future clients know what is latest on your website. Include logo [always a must]; update information, new items of interest, contests or promo’s and a portion of either and article, testimonial or a recent press release. 10. Opportunities- here is where your creativity can flow. Offer: a contest, freebies, education, quizzes, a forum, articles etc. Take a vigorous role in developing creative ways to bring interest to your website. Make it fun! A great example: My husband and I recently bought a Catamaran Sailboat, when we order a new main sail for out boat we will advertise our business on it and include the domain name for our website. As we have loads of fun sailing, we also promote our business, it’s tax deductible. Taking an ongoing active role in promotions of your website will establish your web presence. Being patient, thorough and consistent will achieve lasting results. You have the whole world at your fingertips. Website promotion can be fun and at the same time a wealth of great rewards. What is that saying- cliché? Let your fingers do the talking. Sources: • How to promote your website by: Get-a-dot • The marketing checklist by: Wilson web

Additionally, I'm going to use this article on my site. Kaashifv - BTW, do you want your sig as your author bio on my site? |

sure, just leave out the "We are not powerless specks...." part...lol...that is really not something that I would want as part of the author bio, unless you put something like favourite quote, or something....and thanks for using this on your site

That is a great compiled list of ideas. I use most of them in my business locally already. I am just bringing into to the web so that helps alot with that aspect. I would like to comment on the email thing though. I think before you start emailing about your business, you have an opt in list in place because if you just randomly email people you are going to get known as a spammer and that is not good for you or your business. |

Very nice list. Here are a few more I would add: 1. Blog (and push the RSS feeds) 2. Affiliate program 3. Posting in forums (contributing quality posts in other forums with your link in the signature can help) |

Thanks for the helpful tips. I use most of them in my business already and plan on implementing the rest in the future once I get some things worked out. Overall patience is the key to any business. The way in which the internet has revolutionalized the world we're living in today is incredible and if it's taken advantage of in the right ways it can bring anyone the returns that they ultimately want.
