Default Drop shipping

Anyone been able to make it work with a drop shipping company? And if so any lists out there of honest and reliable dropshippers?

I've had a few ideas for some products I'd like to sell through a drop shipper, but I just don't know if I can trust someone else doing my packing and shipping, etc.

Anyone have any good experience to offer here?

If you aren't busy, you might just want to go ahead and look into shipping the products yourself if it wouldn't be a huge hassle. You could always buy the packing and shipping materials yourself in bulk, and save some money. With the money you save, you can offer express shipping to your customers at rate that is lower than normal.

You'll make much more money if you buy in bulk. There is a very small profit margin in dropshipping, unless you can get the manufacturer to do it for you. Dropship companies are like middle men and they need to make a profit too.

Good luck with it....

I did some dropshipping a while back by ordering products and sellling and shipping them through e-bay.

The profits were not that much and it was a bit hard to sell to buyers. Your best alternative is to purchase in bulk direct from the wholesalers, the website I think it was called alibaba had a list of manufacturers directly from China, India and a whole list of other countries.

Cheers

Personally I tried using two different dropshippers and never had great luck with it. The profit margin was very low with both. One of them I had several packaging problems and the other one was slow to ship. For all of the work and hassle I had to do, it was not worth it for me. I am sure there are people out there that have been able to get it to work for them. But I think it for most of us it is not the way to go.

I think the consensus here is clearly that drop shipping is not the way to go, and I thank you all for your opinions on the subject.

I guess there are some people who make a go of it, but it seems like the margins are just not in our favor. I personally just don't think I could give up that much control of the packaging and shipping.
