Default SOS for scam victims

Any sites which offer free online legal assistance? Scam is widespread in the internet. Online scam victims seem to be helpless since they have no one to turn to. I'm referring to victims of high yield investment programs (HYIPs) and autosurf programs.

Those that get scammed by these type of schemes deserve everything they get IMHO - all they see is the potential get rich quick thing without thinking it through.

That's quite a harsh statement to these victims. You only add insult to injury. I know you're smart enough not join these programs. But that's not a smart response I have been expecting from a "smart" person like you.

Victims are victims. They should not be blamed for the scams committed by other people. Face it, we all want to become rich and most people would try to do anything to have financial freedom. Their mistake is that they trusted the people who offered it to them.

I don't think Mike meant harm in the statement. We should get an online persecutor that is really tough on these schemes - pyramids, porn and gambling...etc legal or not legal. There's no legal in illegality. Somewhere, somehow, people fall victims...

Scams are indeed widepsread on the internet and if one does fall victim, one should report the BBB (Better Business Bureau)

I think it's terrible that in their desperate attempt to make money, some people fall victim to these scams. People who take such advantage of others should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.
