Most of the company in our country provides health benefits to the dependents of a single employee and that is their parents. However, in the company I am working, it is not included in their benefits package, stating that the law does not mandate it. Do you have this same experience like I do?

Are you talking about government-mandated social security or those provided by private insurance groups? If it is about government-backed social security for private workers, then your company is probably lying. Check out the small letters of your health documents, parents are usually included as beneficiaries.

If the social security or health insurance is provided for by private health insurance companies then they probably have their own policies and it won't hurt to check with the health insurance company itself regarding them. If it's with a semi-government or government-mandated health insurer, parents are included. The point is, if your paying for health insurance, it's your right to be informed of the policies. Most major health companies nowadays have websites for easy access to information. There are cases of employers who are not remitting regularly to the health companies their employees' remittances deducted regularly from the pay. |
