What's up with Mike Filsaime and his Butterfly Marketing program? Anythoughts on this? Worth seeking out or a waste of time?

I purchased the program and was on his newsletter mailing and was definitely able to gather some great information from his affiliate programs. He seems like he's dedicated to what he does and believes in it...an intense marketer.

I have kind of lost interest in him myself. I cancelled my membership.

Mike Filsaim's Butterfly Marketing course is a little on the expensive side though. It's going for about $1500 right now. While his techniques are valuable, I would suggest you get Mike's cheaper Carbon Copy Marketing ebook first or his new Butterfly Marketing Manuscript before investing in anything more. Both of these courses are full of great strategies. As you may have already noticed, I recommend Mike Filsaime.

I've followed Mike's progress since he first burst onto the IM scene. He reminds me of the Japanese in the late 1960s and 1970s: no really original ideas, but they took existing ideas and made them work better, or they marketed them better. I can't think of a single original concept I've seen or heard from Mike, and I'm not sure that he'd disagree. His strength is marketing and selling (especially selling), not innovation. That doesn't diminish the value or usefulness of what he does. But his products are triumphs of marketing, not innovation. In this he's no different from Microsoft. Windows has higher market share (quantity) than Mac OS (quality). Apart from DOS, Microsoft's position is due more to better marketing than to innovation. VHS (quantity) versus Betamax (quality) is another example. The late Peter Drucker wrote that business is really only two things:

I agree with what John says about no original ideas. Personally, I think there is a lot of hype around Mike's products. Sometimes he makes a product sound like it is going to do all the work and make you rich instantly. I think this is one of the problems with "the internet marketing community" today. There is too much hype and a lot of false promises. With that said, I think he has some decent products. His Butterfly Marketing Script is pretty handy and his Traffic Crusher course had some good information. |

I agree that Mike is a salesman for sure. I have mixed feelings about his products. I still have to give him respect for growing his business like he has.

I'm fully agree that he is a intense salesman. You're being tempted with one time offer or offer after offer when you try close down the site. Persuasive and determined. A good one.
