It doesn't matter how much money you have or intend to make
but unless you are true to yourself and learn to change your
mindset that has been forced into you by your parents, your peers
etc since you were born, you could be earning $1million a month however
your mind will still be thinking as though you were earning $5,000 a month,
without you even realising it.

I agree money can relieve stress, but it can also generate enormous strees, depending on the situation. There are many examples of people who have come into large amounts of money whose lives were subsequently left in ruins. I agree completely with the notion that happiness comes from within and from you relationships, whatever they may be.

Sometimes people also let alot of money go to thier heads and have a "I'm better than you" attitude. I simply cannot stand people attitudes that think they are better than others!

Thumbs up Re: Can money buy happiness?

Money cannot buy happiness. If it could, then why are most of the rich and famous so royally screwed up.

What money can buy is, FREEDOM.....

Freedom to spend more time with the people you love and doing the things you love to do most.

What would I do if I had this kind of freedom right now...

...well, for a little while.......nothing......I was burned out 5 years ago, now I'm just, well,.......out....Maybe go on a cruise and chill for a little while, but then I'd find a lot of "Pro Bono", work to do helping other people achieve their dreams.

Money can allow one to do things that benefits themself and others, but in the end, what is truly meaningful are not things, but people, and what effect your life had on others.

One of the best books I will continue to read and re-read for the rest of my life, next to the Bible is Dr. Wayne Dyer's Book: Change your thoughts Change your Life.

Thank you for the thought provoking question.

eDave

Money is money.

Freedom is freedom.

Happiness is happiness.

You can choose to have either of them or all of them.
It's the mind which conceive everything in the world.

Have you seen volunteer humanitarian aid people?
They need money for their cause not for themselves
but they have the utmost freedom and they are happy
when they make others happy.

Money can really buy you short term happiness. Its good to know that you have enough to be able to afford the finer things in life. However after that what happen. For the christians, I would say without god in the traingle, the happiness might not last us that long. Let take a look at those movie stars, making millions, I mean they are the most miserable set. if its not drugs, its driving under the influence of something. They are the most troubled. Thats enough to show us that money cannot always bring us happiness.

I know its kind of sad.. But its good to be able to afford the things we need. To go on a vacation when we want to without wondering how we gonna pay the bills and so on.

Yes the choice's the choice to be happy regadless, the choice to take action inspite of what may appear to be neagative cirumstances. Enjoying the journey that some how 'attracts' success

Money does not buy happiness but it sure does help. I am a lot happier now that I can pay all of my bills on time and not live paycheck to paycheck then when I had to struggle month after month

Christians say that "Money is the root of all evil". But the truth is that it is the lack of money that is the root of all evil. Just look around.....

No money can not buy happiness. Even the richest man alive has problems, it's just that money isn't one of them. Money does however make it easier to deal with some problems and makes life easier. But no matter what your financial situation may be, there is more to life than money. The people who have a grasp on that way of thinking are the ones who are truly happy in life.
