The trait that I have noticed in all successful people online is that you have to not only be willing to put in the work (working at home is great but it is still work), but you have to stick with it. Many online opportunities are potentially profitable but may take a while to get them to work. I believe most people give up too soon. So you have to believe in yourself.

That's absolutely true. Hard work + focus + hard work + focus. Drill that into your mind and you'll succeed. There's no point jumping here and there or spreading yourself too thin. => Talk Home Business Blog Tips

Yeah, you'd be surprised how many people's only true failure is the fact they didn't persist through the tough times. Becoming an overnight success is a myth. There is a process involved and it includes hard work, focus and valued principles.

I agree with you completely that people give up too soon. I've seen it happen hundreds of times, both online and off. Perserverance is always a noble trait and you really can't expect any business to be successful if you don't keep at it.

It's not only the time. I have been at this for a year learning quite a bit. i have only had a computer and the internet for a year if that tells you what i have been doing. I have had no great success and i persisted with several programs at 1st and then began getting more simple. Mabee it's just me. My family has been very patient with me while doing this. I have since swithched and am now trying something different. It's just not persistence & patience, but what is fitting for the individual. It may take time just to find your niche. All the experience of searching is very profitable. I tend to want to learn on my own, however many of the programs have done most of the footwork for you. All you have to do is follow the instructions. Either way i have still not profited from them accept for paid surveys and e-mails which do not yield the income needed to support a family.

Dan I am curious what line of work you are in? Is it from home? I have done Avon (i do not like delivery plus gas is way to expensive anymore), I did partylight (I love candels but could not get people to commit to partys that would work with my schedual) So here i am a Certified Travel Agent from home. Working at my own pace. I am a stay at home mom with three children one being a toddler. I do not work full time but i am starting to book vacations and enjoying it knowing that i am sending somebody off to do something they are going to enjoy. I am new at running a business so i am learning along the way but there are times when i want to just say forget it i am never gonna make money at this. But i don't because i know that it can be done now i know it can because i am doing it. So whatever you are involved in if you feel good about it beleive in yourself you can do it. I hope a prosperous 2008 for you and your family. Donica

I am in construction. Project Manager and broken. I had a construction business for about 6 years which was profitable but took way to much time away from the family. My wife has done partylite and other things. But she has done it only for the sake of gathering. I've actually tried more programs from newspaper ads than the internet. I have however learned quite a bit about internet marketing. But as for time i can only focus on learning one thing at a time. It has to be balanced between working outside the home and quality time with my wife and children. Thats why i say niches as well as persistance and dedication. i am currently building a store, trying to promote the site running now at the same time as seeing what the people on this forum might have to say about the current sites appeal. I want to build it as i recieve your ideas. I can say the store project will take awhile.

Dan, one tip. You should write in paragraphs. See now? This is on the next line... Easier on the eye. Ok. I applaud your decision to take action for the better of your family. Yes, focus is key. You probably learned a lot already, just keep doing one thing at a time... I see this as a consistent problem among many... I will be changing the tone of my blog in 2008 to really help everyone in steps... => Talk Home Business Blog Tips
