I do the same thing. Using pinging services is an absolutel must to help generate traffic.

Many of these web 2.0 sites also have been slapped by Google over the last few months for duplicated content. It's going to happen when you have thousands of people creating blogs, hubs, lenses or whatever a particular site calls them.

They still have favor with Google but many are tightening up their rules on what you can post and they monitor the content much more closer than they did in the beginning.

Still great resourcs to build traffic though.
