I am sure that you all have heard about the 4 explosions that went off in the transit system in London, England. This is a major event that was triggered by an unkown factor. Some are saying that it is realted to the G-8 Summit, some are saying it has something to do with London winning the 2012 Olympics, and others are saying it was an act of terrrorisim. Breakdown of events (London Time): 1) explosion at about 8:49am in a subway station between Aldgate East and Liverpool Street subway stations (7 confirmed dead, 90 wounded including 9 seriously injured) 2) explosion at 8:56am at a subway station between King's Cross and Russell Square (21 confirmed fatalities) 3) Explosion near the Edgware Road station at 9:17am. (3 trains involved, 5 fatalities, 8 injuries) 4) Double Decker bus full of people, explodes at 9:47am , at Wodburn Place, near Tavistick Square (unknown number of fatalities) All signs into the city read "Avoid London. Area Closed. Turn On Radio". As a results of these attacks the level of threat was increased in all nations around the world, and the worldwide transit systems are now being watched very closely. I just want to know what you guys think of this, and what do you think caused these attacks? I personally think that these attacks are because Blair decided to join Bush in attacking Iraq, and now the Iraqis are letting Blair know that they mean business. (Or as one of the viewpoints reads "and Blair joined Bushie in Iraq, so the Brits will pay for this") Full and In-Depth Details can be found at: http://www.cbc.ca/story/world/natio...bway050707.html Just a note to anyone reading this: Anyone who had relatives/friends in London at the time of the explosions, who have been killed, or are seriously injured, i just want you to know my heart is with you, as I know how hard it is to loose a loved one, so if anyone needs to talk about it, you can always contact me via email, pm, or any other means that are avalible. This is a terrible event, and nobody should have to go through it. This response was a very intersting one: I think Tony Blair's speech was very strange. First of all, the G-8 is not interested in a better world at all. If they were, they wouldn't have created the G-8. It seems to me that the G-8 was created so that they could ignore the United Nation's General assembly so that the "Lucky 8" could prosper. If the G-8 Nations were interested in a better world they would be in the General Assembly with the rest of the world. I felt Blair's speech was very "you hit me, we'll hit you back" approach. This is not the answer and will create a downward spiral into more violence. You don't go to war to stop terrorism; wars beget more wars. I understand that a lot of people are upset about what happened in London, and I feel for everyone who lost loved ones. But by hitting back, you are letting the terrorists win. Yes I have to agree with you Andy, I think the war on Iraq didn't do anyone any good, it definitely didnt make Iraq a better place nor did it make the US or Britain safer.

This is all sad news. I hope they can get through this as we did with 9/11. But I agree Andy, I do think that alot of this may have been caused because of Blair joining up with Bush in the War with Iraq. But hopefully we do not see anymore of this as this war isn't helping anyone, just making things worse.
