I found this review on Shaklee in ezine articles and wanted to know what you guys thought about this?? The Shaklee Corporation was started in 1956 by Dr. Forrest C. Shaklee. Dr. Shaklee created "Vitalized Minerals" in 1915, on of the first multi-vitamins made available for purchase. As a new company Shaklee didn't have the same large amounts of money other companies had to pour into advertising. As a result he created a marketing campaign that rewarded word-of-mouth referrals known to us today as multi-level marketing or network marketing. One of his sayings inspired by his referral marketing was 'the more you share with others the more valuable your share will become.' Shaklee has paid out over $4 billion to its distributors since 1956 and continues to contribute to the nearly $100 billion a year network marketing industry that Dr. Shaklee helped create. Products Offered Shaklee prides itself on products that are top quality and are environmentally safe. Extensive tests are done on all Shaklee products and are also required to be free of harmful substances of which there is also a large list ( ammonia, bleach, dyes and artificial sweeteners to name a few). Home Cleaners- Shaklee's home cleaning line, Get Clean, is of course environmentally safe, but also offers cleaners that are powerful and safe for your children and pets. Everything from hand soap, disinfecting wipes, laundry detergent, fabric softeners and many other products are offered with the quality that Shaklee is known for. Weight Management- Shaklee's weight management program is called Cinch. Cinch was designed by doctors who realize the importance of eating real food along with supplementation. The Cinch program includes an assortment of nutritional bars, shakes, metabolism boosting pills and an instructional CD. The leucine based nutritional package is formulated to help retain your current muscle while also reducing fat and inches. (Leucine is an amino acid found in high protein foods). Nutrition- The nutritional products Shaklee provides range from the traditional multi-vitamins, minerals, joint care and protein shakes to the not so common products like Vivix, an anti-aging product that has gone through years of research at the Shaklee Corporation. Vivix anti-aging effects are based on research done on resveratrol, a supplement found in grapes and red wine. Resveratrol is known for its positive effects on cellular aging. Shaklee's nutritional products provide nutrition for the whole family. Skin Care- Shaklee's skin care program was created around the idea that the outside of the body needs the same care as the inside. With that in mind the Nutritional Skincare Therapy System has skin treatments that are full of vitamin E,C and A along with grape seed extract and other vitamins. The Business Opportunity The business opportunity with Shaklee is basically the same as many other MLM companies today. To participate in the business plan you will be encouraged to recruit family and friends, make a list of everyone you know, attend product parties, do home presentations, bring people with you to hotel meetings and attend company seminars. After looking into Shaklee from a business stand point the conclusion is that it is a legitimate business but the average person will not be able to produce any substantial earnings from the outdated compensation plan. The products are good and can benefit your health and well being but the business opportunity is not designed to create large incomes. Even though you are recommended to make a list of 200-300 people to show the business to, it would take thousands of people in your down line to create a comfortable six figure income. If the benefits of the products is a big enough reason for you become involved in the business then Shaklee may be right for you. But if you are looking for a business that is able to create a large income you may want to research more opportunities first. |

I used to take Shaklee...can't say they were the best vitamins on the market...now that was about 10 years ago, and I am sure that the times have changed and technology and research has come up with bigger and better vitamin brand supplements out there.

I think they are old school and not up on the latest in the health industry to be able to produce the best possible vitamins out there.
