Beware! Scammers are swarming the internet waiting to take your money and leave you in the dust. They vary from stuffing envelopes, work from home and make thousands and home assembly kits. They promise you that you'll make thousands in just one week...BUT this never happens and they require you to put your money up front. Just be careful and know what you're getting yourself into.

Totally agree as I've been scammed on a number of occasions myself. Watch for those Nigerian e-mail scams also (got one this morning) just delete them. |

Have been receiving tons of scam emails all the time. My quick screening methods are: 1) Does it send to your email address only, or it's to a bunch of email boxes, or even in undisclosed recipient format. If it's the latter 2, very likely it's a scam sending to hundreds or thousands of people at a time 2) Does it address your name properly at the beginning of message? If no, higher chance of scam to group of people they don't really know. 3) Does it ask you to click a link in the message for something? I'll never click any links in the message. If it's a message from a know party (e.g. your bank, sites you normally do your purchase, etc), I'll simply go to their sites from my bookmarks. |

Most lists also send multiple emails out at the same time to their list. This is common practice for most marketers. I send links in my emails all the time. Sometimes it is to a free video or a special report for them to download. This needs to be looked at on a case-by-case basis. If you don't know the people who are sending you the email, you need to do some research on the company. Beware of offers that are too good to be true. Call any phone number listed on the site to see if someone actually answers the phone. Search the company name or product name and include the word scam in a google search. For example, search "x product scam" and look at the results that come up. Run a whois search on the domain and find out when the site was registered. These can all be clues. |
