different between network marketing, mlm, and direct sales if

MLM and network marketing are similar in that both are direct sales. Direct sales in that you are buying direct from the source/supplier, cutting out the "middle man."

MLM is more of a compensation model. Typically, you have a downline and an upline with MLM where everyone in gets a little cut when sales are made. You want to have your own downline so when someone that you referred into the business makes a sale, you see a cut.

There are some network marketing usually means that you are selling to people you know, friends and family. Then one of them gets involved in the biz and does the same thing. It's geared toward who you know and who they know. That's why most companies in this industry don't do much advertising, they grow through word of mouth.
