Hello again! It's Jamison Palmer. This is going to be a review of Global Domains International. This opportunity has been making its way around the Internet, and people have been talking about it. And so, I just want to give my opinion on this particular opportunity, and I start off by saying that I do not recommend that you get involved with this opportunity, at least not as your primary business opportunity, and I'll get into that a little bit here and some of the reasons why I feel this way.
So first of all, what is Global Domains International? Well, this is a business opportunity that is around domains, web hosting, and some template-type websites. These are not just any domains; these are “.ws domains.” And so for an example, I'm sure all of you are familiar with .com, .net, .org, .biz, and some many other ones, well these are .ws. And so first of all, those of you that have seen my domain portfolio, you know that I've been buying domains for like 12 years and I have an extensive portfolio and I do not own .ws domains, I'm not interested in buying .ws. Most of what I purchase and most of what I have are .coms. And there's a reason for that, .coms are always better to get if possible, depending upon what exactly your website is about. I mean, sometimes it can be OK to have a .net or .org, but usually I stick with .com for the most part. And part of the reason for that is when people are searching online when they here about, say for an example the business was yourcompany.ws, when you're out there telling people that it's yourcompany.ws, a lot of those people just, you know, not knowing any better are going to end up going to yourcompany.com, and that's just the way it is. And from what I've seen, .com domains for whatever reason seem to be preferred by Google and the other search engines; they just seem to carry a little bit more weight. And again, for branding purposes, most people when they're searching for a website and looking for business online, they're always going to type in .com. And so again, it's always better to choose the .com in my opinion when possible. And so these .ws domains, that's really what the product is, and as far as the web hosting goes I'm real particular about who I do my web hosting with. And so, you know, this company, I wouldn't want to have my websites hosted here. And I can tell you that a lot of webmasters are going to feel the same way. The thing is, I mean domain is a product, of course, you know I have over a thousand domains but I'm the exception, and how many people out there are going to buy a lot of .ws domains to make it worthwhile while you're getting that many sales. And so most people only purchase a domain or two if at.
And you're also looking at very low ticket items. There are low profit margins, and I mean it's not like you're getting domains for a dollar a piece, I mean they're still like 8 something, 8 dollars and something. So, you know, it's not like there is this special deal that you're getting. You know, this is again, it's a low-ticket product and low-ticket products are not really the best way to go as a primary business opportunity because you need to think about it like this: For the amount of effort that you're going to put in, you usually end with about a 1% to 2% conversion rate. That means that 1% to 2% of the people see the opportunity as long as it's a solid landing page, as long as it's professional. Looking at about 1% to 2% conversion, would you rather on that 1% to 2%, you know that one person that visits your website out of 100, would you want to make 10 dollars for that person or would you want to make a 100 dollars or would you want to make 1000 dollars, and that's the thing with business opportunities. It doesn't really matter what the opportunity is, you're still looking at generally a 1% to 2% conversion rate.
And so what we have found and this is through extensive testing is that typically your higher-end, your higher-profit margin business opportunities just tend to be more profitable. And you know, as far the amount of resources, the amount of effort that you're putting in, you tend to get a better return on your efforts when it's a higher-profit margin product and a higher-profit margin opportunity. And so again, you know, I could see maybe being involved in this as maybe a secondary opportunity if it fits real well with something else that you're doing, but as far as just getting involved with this and going out there and spending a lot of time marketing this, it's just not going to be worthwhile in my opinion. And so I do not recommend getting involved with this company as a primary business opportunity.
And that's my review on Global Domains International.
