Default Rip-Off Report:IM Report Card

This site isn't actually a scam, but their recent actions make me question their integrity. This is actually a sad post, because I thought their motives were true and have promoted them since their opening date in July of '06. Yet, now that I realize their true colors, I want to warn everyone of this site.

IM Report Card started off great at first. Its a forum that posts "unbiased" reviews of the most popular Internet Marketing products, services, biz opps, and guru's online today. They paid its members very well for rating the reviews, posting comments describing their experiences, and rating others comments. Being in the industry for so long, and having been scammed a few times myself, I was estatic about a site like this. But the month after they opened, things started going downhill.

First, many people started posting comments just to get paid. That was to be expected, and as a response IMRC banned all members from non-english speaking countries. I thought this was a harsh decision, but stood by as I had a vested interest in the content of the site as well.

Further down the road, many of my friends who had joined the site under me started complaining about their comments being deleted as not being specific enough for the site, and possibly fraudulent. They also complained that their suggestions for reviews were being deleted, yet the same sites were being added by the suggestion of others just weeks later. I blamed this on too many admin and their different opinions, but kept ahead.

As I promoted this site in forums, I got many replies about how they are very biased in their actions, but again I chose not to listen but defend. I just knew that IMRC was a great company.

The beginning of the end came for me when they stopped paying for referrals. I was mad that they would no longer do so, granted; but the way the executed this action was what really got to me. No announcement of the change, just a small date at the bottom in the back office, and an unnanounced change to the FAQs.

Still believing in the site, I started a thread in their forum to express my anger constructively, and hopefully gain understanding in why it was done in this manner. I got several responses from other members in the two weeks that followed, each angry about the change and how it was snuck in on us, yet no response from admin.

Meanwhile, we got an e-mail about how IMRC would no longer pay for comments, only giving e-books and software as a reward. Yet still no response about no notification about the referrals issue.

People began to complain about not being paid, and rightfully so. Yes this site provides a great service and helps us to save money. But time is money, and if you want people to expend their time on a site, you have to give desirable incentive. We came to this site because we were tired of all the e-books that aren't worth a thing, why would we want more of that from this site?

Finally, after two and a half weeks, admin makes a response. Instead of addressing the entire issue, he goes straight in to allude that anyone that is concerned about getting paid couldn't have been making useful comments in the first place, so they would be glad for them to leave.

And this is what set me off. I made a post conceding the issue of being paid, and focused squarely on the lack of support during this time. I asked why the delay in response, and why they never addressed this issue directly. Instead of getting a response, my post was removed from the thread, they got a second person to collaborate with what they said about members being greedy, then they locked the thread.

I cannot trust a site that would squelch the opinions and legitimate questions of a member, and you should either. Even though the reviews look great, I wouldn't patronize this site, for the simple fact if they have to hide opinions that are different than their own, their whole integrity is in question.
